manga-only still, but i'll probably try the anime eventually. just don't wanna mess up my perception of the characters by overriding it with the anime voices

@GeorgeMTO I stand corrected. Possibly would see less of the side stories of P3 adapted then. I forgot about that OVA episode introducing Justus and Eckhart from a side story from P3V2 for half that episode. Quite a lot present in P3, though I would like to hope it is handled better this time.

I pray that the side stories following around the end of P3 get better adaptations or screen time than the few seconds of Myne's mourning from the last episode of last season, P2V4 epilogue with the black cloth and the neighbors of her family.

I am really enjoying s2 so much. I love the chill story.

An original movie plot? Set (presumably) after book 6? Interesting...

CC season 2 of the animae has gone the path of rot. Most of each episode is now just characters squealing "Sugoy!" to each other as the camera pulls back and pivots to stretch out one animation cell for twelve.

The cooking "animation" is just a hands video of someone cooking a meal for two with an animation filter applied afterwards. Then it pulls back and magically the human sized portion is now 40 portions stacked in front of the characters.

And instead of the snap delivery of the light novel as it steps through the dialog of each of the quartet, it has to Full Stop. After. Each. Sentence.

Particularly grating is Sui. It already has a slow and halting delivery to indicate its a child, but then a repeating musical scale has to be inserted after each sentence delivery to indicate its a slime. And Dora-Chan has to have wing sounds inserted after each sentence to show he's a dragon.

What a decline.

Airing Winter/January 2026

I just saw the first episode of this anime. I think it did a pretty good job of following the LN. I thought Mei looked a bit like Hestia.

Willing to bet the series will be on catch-up by tomorrow night.

perhaps it is a personal "ick" for me. One that I find more often than I like in LNs. Young girl has a crush on caretaker, teacher, older brother and doesn't grow out of it - used as fetish fuel. I have not seen this to be the case in this series (as far as I have read) And I remind myself that IRL (especially in the scenario we encounter in this series) a decade of separation changes a person - they grow up - who you knew when they were 15 is not the same person when they are 25 (and conversely the instructor someone was crushing on a decade ago isn't entirely the same guy 10 years later)

Informed consent between adults w/o a power differential is fine.

@Jon-Mitchell Even more importantly, times change. Some of what worked in the 80s and 90s isn't really working with today's audiences. Public sentiment is ever evolving, and media needs to keep up with that evolution to remain relevant and profitable.
