Novel pick-up requests
-
@Hakomari Yeah, that sux. I read up to vol 6, but I will be happy to see it licensed by J-Novel. It is a really good story and in vol 8, there was a nice big cliffhanger :D
Sam, please, please :D -
I am really enjoying the anime so I'll probably read the LNs afterwards. Would be best if it gets licensed here. Make it happen Sam-dono.
-
@Hakomari Wrap up the ReLIFE series? But the manga is still going on.
-
@silentpope
Yeah I know. I think it will be finished by then. Or maybe the OVA series is just an advertisment for the upcoming live-action series.
-
I am starting to detest everyone in the world who is involved with stopping a company from legally licensing the Saekano Light Novels.
-
@Hakomari said in Novel pick-up requests:
Well if Yen Press does it we won't get the first volume before late 2018...
The time range between their license announcements and them releasing the first volume is generally 6-10 months. What makes you think that this series would take so long?
-
@kuuderes_shadow Because they first need to get a license you know. And if that happen, I am not sure that it will be anytime soon. Best will be if Sam snatch it, but I am not sure how it is with publisher.
-
@sparhawk6 and if J-Novel Club picks it up they would have to get the license as well?
Indeed from an outsider's perspective it looks to me as though J-Novel Club announces their licenses a lot later in the process than YP does - which means a longer wait before the announcement, which then balances out the fact that you'd then get the volume faster after the announcement here than from YP.
-
@kuuderes_shadow Sorry, but you can´t compare them 2 months vs 4 -5 months. And do you think that YP announce license immediately after they get it? Funny. In matter of release date, you truly can´t compare it. Vertical keep so far Monogatari series in the 2 month gap, also One Piece Books keeps Shieldbro 2-4-2 for now, what is not bad. Just imagine Mahouka series, they are on vol 5 and for now is out 21 volumes, so just imagine how many years it will take till they actually catch up with volumes from 2017. (Better not mention Re:zero, Strike the Blood, SAO, Death March,...)
This are my points to this topic. -
@sparhawk6 - Please don't put words into my mouth. I never said any of the things you are arguing against there.
-
@kuuderes_shadow Read it again, please. Only one thing that actually react to your previous comment, was the first and second sentence. The rest is my opinion. I didn´t come to argue, just make a points.
-
@sparhawk6 - and those were the bits I was mainly replying to as well
-
@kuuderes_shadow Yep, so it has been just my reaction to it. The next titles and companies I mentioned, are only to make a better image of how things look in reality, when it is going about release date of the books.
-
To clarify, I'm pointing out that I never said or suggested that they announce things immediately after licensing them, but merely that I believe they do so at an earlier stage in the process than J-Novel Club. In other words, if a YP license was going to have to wait until, say, October 2018 (which would likely mean , that would probably mean a license announcement in, say, January 2018. If, at the same date as a potential YP license that would lead to a vol 1 release date in late 2018, J-Novel Club got the license instead, you would not see the first part in Jan 2018, but instead see license hints in Feb/March, with the announcement in, say, May. In other words, there's a bigger gap between license acquisition and us finding out about it for YP than for JNC - so the part we see as the "getting the license" bit would be longer for the latter than the former. The dates are hypothetical, of course, but I'd be surprised if the key point was wrong.
On the other hand, YP may well already have/be on the way to getting the license, in which case it would be out well before the end of 2018, which was my original point before you brought up the subject of license acquisition. Of course, JNC could as well, although I doubt it, and if they did then it would render void the claim that they should get it.
Given that what I'd been replying to was about the release date of the first volume, how long it takes between one volume and the next is irrelevant.
-
You didn´t get it. Because there is already out 8 vol of Eromanga sensei, so yes they will catch up around 2019 if they get license in this year. If J-Novel get it, they will make it about half faster. That is the point. I better don´t mention licenses, that they get and release date was like over half of year or more later.
Don´t forget that last batch of licenses from YP was not so long ago. So if they announce license, it will be probably around September - October this year, then 6-8 months (or more) till 1st volume, so yes it will be as Hakomari write. ( Just theory as your previous post ) About this was your first post.
Just read it again, I put also part about vol 1.
Also, J-Novel usualy reveal titles cca 2 months after teasing. And they always start with some parts of 1st volume done.
"Indeed from an outsider's perspective it looks to me as though J-Novel Club announces their licenses a lot later in the process than YP does " this point is not really valid, that is why I make my points before.
Is that all? Can we not drag it more, or are there some other points, that you would like to discuss?
-
sigh
Guess it's best just to end this conversation. It's clearly going literally nowhere.
-
@kuuderes_shadow sigh , exactly my reaction from the start. That is why I write to not drag it more. Thanks
-
Calm down both of you. Late 2018 may have been an exaggeration. The first volume often comes out 6-10 months after the announcement as you said. (Excluding delays that may happen. The first volume of Hakomari comes out 10 month and 15 days after the announcement so it can be more than 10 months between the announcement and the release of first volume) Seeing how they made a big announcement in Sakura-con last month, I am pretty sure they won't make any LN announcements until summer 2017. Let's say that they make the announcement very early in summer - beginning of July. That would mean the first volume will be out between January and June 2018. Yes, indeed saying late 2018 was an exaggeration and I apologize for that. But waiting 1 more year for the first volume is still a pain in the ass.(Still waiting on the first volume of Hakomari and second volume of Oregairu)
-
@Hakomari yeah, the second volume of Oregairu is pretty long waiting. But you know, I was a bit sad that they announce Masou Gakuen manga only and not the LN. Same it was with DxD. But what is the biggest pain for me, series like Mahouka or Strike the Blood, Re:Zero 4-5 month window is a bit too long. That is why I hope that Sam will get Date a Live or Shinmai.
We work with theory dates, so it is hard to say if it will early or late 2018 or if they even license it. But in term of release, JN will be for sure better.
( I am calm, don't worry :D ) -
Anybody here want shimoneta to be pick up by J-Novel?
