Novel pick-up requests

ImIlyaz

@sparhawk6 oh I haven't heard about it. If you know, does it live up to it's 'senpai'?

sparhawk6

@ImIlyaz yep, it is good and frozen have almost finished first volume translation.

ImIlyaz

Has anyone heard about "ryuugajou nanana no maizoukin"? Surprisingly I really liked the anime, it had a decent plot and likable characters. It also has an LN, I would love to continue the story

AratashiKun

@ImIlyaz When I first saw the anime, it reminded of Rokujouma due to Nanana being a ghost like Sanae. Kondee Translations is translating currently with not much progress done yet. Only 2 chapters have been translated from Volume 1 after BakaTsuki dropped the fan translation project after only the prologue.

ImIlyaz

@AratashiKun ya I noticed the super slow translations. Great time for J-Novel to license it, right? ;)

regex

Have anyone recommend Isekai Tensei Soudouki yet? I would love to have more war story in jnovel

santi Brathana

@regex My man!

although i believe we have never made any deal with alphapolis publishing yet :(

Wondering if Musaigen no Phantom World might get picked up for translating....

WhiteCloud

I want either gasoware or nanana first in the Next novel acquisitions

AratashiKun

Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria, By HJ Bunko and it follows Yuuto being transported into another world by a mirror after doing a test of courage with his childhood friend. Yuuto isn't necessarily a fighter, but a strategist much like Ikta in Alderamin on the Sky. This certainly a series I'd like to see.

Eternal Wanderer

Does anyone think it would be a good idea to do a poll of the most popular suggestions so we can get a better idea of what series we want the most, if anyone likes the idea I'll be more than happy to go through this topic and make it.

Jaquobus

@Eternal-Wanderer ~~No, because I could't accept the reality if the Yuki Yuna novels weren't on top~~ More seriously, yes that would be helpful. It avoids duplicate in posts, is more easily searchable and can be used to gauge interest. Doesn't increase the chance for anything to actually get licensed, but one can dream after all.

Eternal Wanderer

@Jaquobus kay then, how many series do you think I should include in it.

Aruseus493

@Eternal-Wanderer

I'd say to make separate polls based on publishers since there's stuff that can get licensed realistically, and stuff from publishers monopolized by Yen Press. Otherwise, here was my grand list of stuff I want licensed from the publishers J-NC is currently partnered with.

Eternal Wanderer

@Aruseus493 Honestly not a bad suggestion and maybe a good idea for the future but for the first poll I'd like to keep it simple. If it proves popular enough I might make make publisher specific polls in the future.

Out of curiosity how many publishers does Yen Press monopolize? The only example I can think of is Kadakawa because they own Yen Press.

sparhawk6

@Eternal-Wanderer Well, there are a couple of brand companies that belong under Kadokawa Corporation, like Media Factory, ASCII Media Works, Chukei Publishing Company, Enterbrain, Fujimi Shobo, Kadokawa Gakugei Shuppan Publishing, Kadokawa Magazines, Kadokawa Shoten.
But for example Softbank is still free and there is more of them for sure.

And Kodansha doesn´t own 51% of YP, it is Kadokawa.

Eternal Wanderer

@sparhawk6 Sorry screwed that up, in hindsight its a pretty dumb mistake, fixed now though.

Aruseus493

Got some requests for Ichijinsha series. :3
