@terrence I read the Goblin Slayer LNs 1-5 it would be fun to listen to the podcast. How do I tune in and what time?
We don't do it live, we usually record privately and then upload it to YouTube and Justus R Stone's site.

http://www.lightnovelpodcast.comDon't expect the Goblin Slayer one too quickly since the Sam interview just went up. I still gotta get through V3 (I think I'll try to read one chapter a night). I think we'll record it mid to late month if that's the next one we settle on (it sounded like it would be). Play it by ear. Gotta strike while the conversations on it are hot though. x)

The guild letting their rookie hunters run off + die to a threat they knew was dangerous.
This is explained in the story, FYI, so maybe don't get ahead of yourself and bring it up when it's possible your podcast won't air until after the episode where they explain it airs >.>

Well, I think we may be addressing stuff like this even if the anime explains it because there were folks considering quitting the anime over the logic they did not see in the plot after episode 1 (not everyone sticks with the 3 episode rule). So they might not watch long enough to forgive the anime for them having misjudged it on aspects.
I don't know if those people would be interested in listening to a podcast on a series they quit, but you never know, maybe they're curious if stuff they saw as faults gets explained in the novels better / later on, and find out if they were wrong to quit watching / reading yet. xC
-
@terrence Gotcha. Well, you can bring up that someone who's read the books says it is explained in-universe, if that helps anything :)
-
@Terrence Thanks for the info and the link I will check it out. True its still hot, but having to wait a couple of weeks might not be that bad since you would have material to talk about.

Watching Goblin slayer as well and lol, I’m not on the hate goblin train because I’m reading and watching the slime anime and LN and
-
@hyferzftw Seeing the story from the goblins perspective also make them look nicer, for instance in Warhammer novels like Skarsnik written in a goblin perspective you can't help but cheer for him beating out the dwarves and skavens armies. Same in the Korean LN 'green skin', the goblin and orcs have no problem killing or eating humans but they are kind and supportive to the members of their clan. Goblin King is another of those stories written in a goblin perspective were even thou the goblins instincts are to rape and eat humans the male MC manages to make an all races village were even goblin behave (if not they be punished). In another goblin perspective novel titled Goblin Quest, they are portrayed as goofy savages somewhat cute but totally violent, and only the MC is a smart goblin that can think outside the box.
I really like novels written in monster perspective, but they are somewhat rare to find.
About the Slime novel, I loved the politics and world building, still I lost interest to finish it
-
@renofury well I haven’t gotten there yet as I started reading it 2 days ago and am almost done with v2 but hopefully, my views on the LN don’t go sour for me.
-
So this season I've got stuff like Slime, Irozuku, and Bunny Girl Senpai lined up as well as my usual selection of cute slice-of-life stuff like Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san, Anima Yell, and Beelzebub. The show that surprised me, though, with how much I want to see more of it is Merc Storia. It's straight-up adventure fantasy; no saving the world, no subduing big evil threats, just go out and discover new places and people (and maybe heal some monsters along the way). Honestly, it's the kind of fantasy story I want to see more of, including in the LN sphere. (Isekai is optional.)
(On the other hand I'm not a fan of dark fantasy so Goblin Slayer is completely out for me.)

Finally got some time so watched the double SAO ep, the first Goblin Slayer, first two Slime, Anima Yell, Himote House & the 3min quick Jingai-san no Yome.
SAO had some jarring visual screw ups when they first switched to them playing GGO (bad CG man bad CG /Gigguk) but other than that it was as I'd expected
Goblin Slayer was pretty damn brutal. It seemed like the guild chick was wanting to tell them not to do it but wasn't allowed to? I'm ready to wait for the in universe explanation, though if it is as simple as "n00bs won't listen anyway" I'll be pissed.
I'm a fan of Slime so far, haven't read the LNs or looked for scanlated manga, totally going in blind.
Anima Yell is like the girls from that Mangaka dorm from a season or two ago in an alt universe with slightly different colouring etc. CGDCT moeshit x eleventy, but I'll probably watch it unless I get too far behind.
Himote House was very visually crappy bad 3D shit (not Hand Shakers hideous, but that sort of 3D), but the story is pretty random comedy wise so I'll give it the 3 eps.
Jingai-san no Yome is just weird as shit but being so short & so weird I want to know more and CBFed dropping it (yet, at least)
Still have My Sister My Writer, Bunny Girl, Vampire & UsaMaid in my queue - think I'll probably check out Merc Storia & Beezlebub too.

Yeah, we might hold off for a bit. There's some other LN we have officially in the West with anime this season they might be interested in covering first too.
-
Mommy Isekai LN is getting an anime ("Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks"). ^_^
I believe Ai Kayano is playing the mother, Otomo Masako (Masato?).
This gentleman plays the son.

I haven't seen this week's episode yet, but was it just me or did the animation quality on Golden Kamuy go way down last week?
-
I don't know about Golden Kamuy but I did see that the animation/art quality for My Sister, My Writer tanked horribly in episode 2, killing off the slim chance I had to continue that show...
-
@terrence Is that... the Saekano movie?!
It's finally coming out? -
@shrike_al Fall 2019 I believe
-
No one talking about the true AOTS: Zombieland Saga??
That thing shouldn't work by any means, but it does, and it's friggin' awesome. I love it. It's a parody on idol anime but taken to the extreme, it's fucking genius.
-
Zombieland Saga - never would have thought I would have seen a Zombie version of Love Live.

I've been watching Slime Tensei and I'm really conflicted on whether I should go past volume 3 or wait it out for the ln.
I also started part 5 of JoJo, Golden Wind, and wow-- Been a while since I had so much fun watching an anime. With that last episode, Giorno is already in second place for my favorite Joestar. I hear part 5 is quite inconsistent from manga readers though, so I'll try to keep my expectations tempered. -
@falcade I’ve been loving Jojo as well! I only saw the first 4 parts after they were finished and binged them, but it’s fun as well to discuss the show with my friends each week. David Production is doing such a good job.
