Why do I want this licensed?
First of all, let me preface this by saying I'm a huge, huge fan of fantasy shoujo and/or fantasy romance. I fell in love with the genre because of Spice and Wolf. Then I came across Akagami no Shirayukihime, then Akatsuki no Yona, and so on and so forth.ANYWAYS, moving on to my main point, Maydare is a beautiful series. It's a wonderful mix of genres that doesn't clash with each other. The characters are well-written and can display actual, human emotions (though I do have some reservations for some one-dimensional characters, but eh). It starts off quite slowly, and probably in a cliched manner for some, but it eventually picks up pace, with each revelation contributing to the thrill of the story.
I may be biased because of how much I love the genre, but I can vouch for Maydare being unique from a lot of similarly-themed works. My heart hurts when there's drama involved, my heart jumps when the romance kicks it up a notch, my heart laughs when it's time for comedy... it's really nice.
