Acquisitions Speculation - General

If he did them on Christmas Eve, he could really ruin Christmas. I'll be looking all the titles up on my phone instead of socializing with relatives at the dinner table. =P
Do it! xD

Fall In Love All Over Again
Just what if?
What if it's Mujaki no Rakuen (Paradise of Innocence) lol? -
@terrence
"Socializing with relatives" was never fun, so at least, you get a good excuse lol -
Cooking with Wild Game and I shall Survive using Potions just got licensed. I wonder which hints were these 2 supposed to be.
EDIT: Just realized that Potion Loli probably refers to Complete the Triptych. Since this series is one of the three series of FUNA.

Is it happening. It's happening!
Who was the poster who was really excited for the Wild Game one? I remember that was one of the earliest food novels brought up here. You got your wish! =)
I heard the author of Gal Gohan also confirmed his manga for an English release with no confirmed publisher (this is thirdhand knowledge, so take with a grain of salt, don't know where the Twitter poster got that from), but I didn't think any of the hints pointed towards food stuff. Already proven wrong, so let's hope!

According to novel updates, both of them are being published by j-novel.

Uh so is Cooking with Wild Game refers to It's Definitely Not Stocks?
-
@zing I think you misread the “hint” part he was talking about.
JNC sometimes gives us hints to what they might license next. -
Do you think Santa Sam will bring more gift wrapped light novels this morning?
As I pray, Unlimited License Works! 🙏
-
The reveals are probably about what anyone here could have expected. I do hope for something more exciting next time but the remaining three announcements will probably be similar to these two.
-
The initial hints didn't really excite me (besides the "let's fall in love all over again" one), but the reveals were actually pretty interesting so far to me since they fit some subcategories of Isekai / Fantasy we don't have here (potion focus and food focus) and they were things I remember folks requesting. =)
I wonder if we'll get a non-Isekai / non-fantasy though. First batch of manga kind of disappointed me since it was all fantasy (one of them took place in reality, but still fantastical).
-
@terrence I completely agree. I had really been hoping that someone would pick up both of those titles and now JNC has. I'm thrilled that they managed to get these titles and maybe since we got the LNs maybe the manga editions will soon follow like it did with "Elf Bride".
Just a thought but hopefully a good one. Now we only have to wait to see what the other three releases are.

Trying to say Reverse Isekai is just when something comes from another world is completely confusing the nature of the Isekai trope.
You don't call going from A to B then back to A a "reverse trip," so why would you call it a "reverse isekai" just because A and B are different worlds? :/
Having never heard the term "reverse isekai" used before in general, the definition you're trying to sell is not remotely what I would expect it to be, that's why I disagree with it.
Imo, reverse Isekai is anything that summons to OUR world, or the world of the main character.
Example, there is a manga where dungeons are appearing in Japan, and suddenly the MC has one in his garden shed.
Example, farmer finds a female knight in his field and nurses her back to health. The spell she cast to escape orcs crossed her to “this world” instead of pulling him to hers.
I went out to get milk, and returned home with a wife and twin daughters.
One could argue world trigger is a reverse Isekai.
You could argue “Freezing” is a reverse Isekai. The enemy comes from an alternate dimension.
Goodby Isekai goodbye, where a princess comes to the MC world to being him to hers using truck-Kun and other methods, only to be prevented by demons from her world. This could be considered a reverse Isekai...
What if the large metropolis’ of the world suddenly had a dungeon as their sewers... and they had to now hire adventurers to clean up or “hunt” them clean...
Mind you, lately I’ve started to think most Isekai are about time travel...
Ie, Souma Kazuya from realist her wasn’t “summoned” to another dimension, just pulled 5000+ years forward in time after a world wide apocalypse. It’s been hinted in at least one other light novel/manga/anime...

Updated the Bingo card from AX. Going to roll with it into the New Year and see if I can cross some of these out if they get licensed. =)
-
@terrence I’d like any of those to get licensed.
-
@terrence why diff cross with diff colour. Is it random or some reason??

I just chose different color X's for the different vertical lines. I think I'm going to change it to color coded for who licensed what though.
Blue for J-Novel.
Green for Yen On.
Black for Seven Seas.
Red for Other (Sol Press, Vertical, etc). -
@terrence Don't think mimic is very likely considering it only has one volume with no news of a second after 8 months.

I agree, but at the time (Anime Expo) it was fairly fresh and new, thought it would have some legs (cough cough, no pun intended with the sexy legs on the cover) sales wise and get sequels. Nothing though. Honestly, one I'd take off my request list until further notice.
Mimic could still be one of those random Pizza Elf / Division Maneuver type licenses. Most volume 1s are fairly good singular experiences too, so I'd still grab it if it got licensed, just not as enthusiastic as I was.
