Back in School? Unwind After Classes with September Catchups!
-
School is starting again, so we've got just the material for you to review after class!
Is there any use for rote memorization? Cooking recipes! After all, Mukohda needs quite the repertoire in order to keep his legendary pets full and happy! Travel along in Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, and look for a new volume to start streaming very soon!
Next, we've got two high school girl series that are about as different as can be! Holmes of Kyoto stars one who works in an antique shop and teams up with a man with uncanny insight known as the "Holmes of Kyoto" to solve the various mysteries surrounding the antiques that their clients bring to them. The other, JK Haru Is a Sex Worker in Another World, is kind of exactly what it says on the tin. Please note that J-Novel Club recommends this series only for readers age 16 and older, so reader beware!
Finally, if you hate studying, you can always just... trade your memories for more skill points! With the anime still airing this season, we've got the manga adaptation of Black Summoner here for you to see what happens after the latest episode, or after the series ends! Check out the light novel to go even further!
We've got almost 30 volumes to review for your month-long JNC homework assignment, so members better hit the books!

Oh good! I can catch up on Holmes of Kyoto! Life happened and I ended up falling behind to the point I couldn't read it anymore.
And it's nice to hear that Campfire Cooking will be getting a new volume soon! I look forward to it!

I can reccomend this series. And yes, the main character's job is exactly what it sounds like it is, and they do talk about what that entails in the story, so keep that in mind before reading it if that stuff makes you squeemish. But it does have a real and interesting plot involving heroing and a demon lord, and the scenes actually involving sex tend not to describe much beyond what's required for the plot (but yes, it is explicit in places). The first volume is mostly first person from the main character's perspective. A good portion of the second is told from other people's points of view. It seems to end kind of abruptly... I have a hard time deciding if the author got forced to end it before they were ready or if the publisher tried to push it out the door before they finished it. But the twist at the end is pretty good.

Nice, I’ve been wanting to read Holmes of Kyoto, so this was a good opportunity. I’m wondering what extras are in the premium e-books; particularly if the material described as being in volume 6.5 is there. I want to find out what happened during Aoi’s 18th birthday party!

@jmnovak Thankfully Rahul keeps a handy list
https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/4902/premium-e-book-bonus-contents-list-updated-september-1-2022/4?_=1662427954784No bonus stories for Holmes though, just translator and editor stuff.

@GeorgeMTO Too bad! Thanks for pointing out the list!

Just a note for our members, catchups will be changing on Monday, October 3, since the first of the month is on a weekend and we unfortunately have not created an automated system for it yet!
