@_08 Gladly send them EPUBs or a ZIP of images, but they want PDFs. I don't know why, maybe their system does the whole conversion for them. I know they can do it right, because they did it properly for the Kodansha one's I've seen, last time I decrypted one. Might just suck it up and buy a vol
Chapter 8 is live!
Oni's Gate: Also known as Ushitora or Kimon, northeast is considered unlucky in Japanese superstitions that date back a thousand years, to the time of the onmyoji.
The gift-givers is depicted in the manner of Daikokuten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods. The bag over the shoulder is also distinctive. I couldn't find any beliefs related to Daikokuten that relate to the actions here, so I think this god is simply wearing a Daikokuten mask.
Wandering Gods: Hyoryushin isn't a very common word at all, but there are several similar phrases, all describing gods that don't reside within a shrine, but drift or wander the earth. Ebisu, another of the Seven Lucky Gods, is a good example.
Folk Dance: The Japanese actually specifies the Dojosukui, so here's a Youtube video of the specific dance Matsubue-kun imagines Togawa performing!
Twisted Chain Stitch: In case you want to get into embroidery yourselves:
Vol3 chapter 2 reports:
p19 4th panel 2nd bubble - Why the question mark? It's neither a question nor does it have that intonation.
p31 3rd panel - "So you're saying... if we were attached to studio 7, [...]" Missing word there.
Volume 2 - Chapter 3:
Page 08 ► Center-right box: WAITING HERE UNTIL EFFA FINISHED HARVESTING PARUES ► It should be FINISHES?
Page 11 ► Bottom-right box: SO ALL THIS WORK GET PUSHED ONTO ME. ► It should be GETS.
@jon-mitchell It cover up to around 80% of chapter 4, out of 5, but if you count the side story (not the bonus one) it's around half of vol 1.
It really seems like it going to be better than the LN I hope we get a print release one day.
Chapter 6 is up!
This is the end of Volume 1, and we're not getting the eBook ready, so last chance to get any corrections done.
We're also going to be heading right into volume 2 without a break, so chapter seven will be up in two weeks!
But the tea made from this plant seems to be sold as Dokudami Tea in English.
Contraceptive film: The Japanese actually gives a specific brand name, Mylura, but that product was eventually discontinued for a very good reason--it didn't do anything. Given how much trouble I had even figure out what the hell it was, we figured it was better to use the generic term.
Hey everyone, Sasha here! I'm the editor for the FP manga and novels.
How did you enjoy volume 1 of the manga? I loved being able to see all of the characters drawn out. As corny as it sounds, it was like seeing old friends again, and some of the most memorable scenes in the LN gave me chills to see in comic form!
I forgot to mention something about Chapter 4:
There's a part where Will starts getting full of himself, and the panel shows his nose growing. It looks kinda like a Pinocchio reference, doesn't it? But he's not lying. Hrm.
Translator James pointed out to me that it's actually a reference to tengu in Japanese folklore:
Thanks for the reference, @james-rushton!
That explaination confused me more than anything, like did Pas experience first degre burn to be able to copy it ?
I'm pretty sure he used it to make the apple pie (wouldn't have the time otherwise), so can he transform raw ingedients into the finish product ?
I wonder where the story will go now that the whole bandit thing is mostly resolved.
