Allen, an eight-year-old boy from a poor family in the royal capital, is living a poor but happy life together with his mother. One day, however, memories of his previous life suddenly come back to him and he remembers that he is in an dating sim game and that the capital will be destroyed by war if he doesn’t do something about it.If this continues, both he and his mother will be killed!
With a sense of urgency, he decides to rise to the occasion in order to save his precious mother’s life and save his favourite character, the villainous young lady Anastasia, the only girl he liked in the game, from her all too tragic and ruinous end.
This is the story of a man who isn’t even a character in the game, but who strives with his steely determination and uses all the knowledge he has to turn overcome fate!
My Thoughts
One of my favourites from the villainess genre, the web novel is great. It's kind of similar to trapped in a dating sim without a harem and our mc is all about saving his family and the villainess Anastasia. I really like the villainess character in this story, she's the one who stands out the most for me. Strong, independent and giving of respect to those who deserve it regardless of status. I also like how the mc acts when he realises he's in love with Anastasia, he doesn't shy away from his feelings. I won't spoil any details other than to say that it is worth a read. My only concern for the moment is that it has a single volume, hopefully they don't axe it because it has good potential. -
Always love a good villainess story, and I would like to read one with a male MC for a change

I've been reading a Fan translation of the WN for this...
This story is similar to Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs, but much shorter, and without the harem elements for the male MC.
Given the length of the WN, I would say it might be 4 volumes at the most.
Now for the fun part:
The MC is a former aerospace engineer with wind magic and a crazy alchemy ability that lets him build anything as long as he has a blueprint and materials. However, he has almost no ambition besides preventing a potential war (and maybe winning the hand of the "villainess," whom he has a crush on).

Looking through this, the only downside I can see is that the MC is named Allen.
rimshot!
Other than that, it sound right down my alley.
Heh.
MAL lists the manga adaptation that started last year, but shows no knowledge that there's an LN.
And lists the author of the LN as one of two artists involved with the manga. Which is even more amusing since they have the Twitter account linked, and the account blurb makes it ever so clear that it's the account of a novelist. Narou Author PageMAL also has an entry for the LN illustrator... with no indication of their being involved with this title. Twitter | Pixiv

I read the manga after seeing an out-of-contest panel in the discord.
It’s, uh, definitely a wild ride. Definitely a more unrefined Mobusekai, if JNC wants one of their own.

@FacelessOne What’s she looking at? She’s kinda in front of him, so he might be looking at her, but he’s off to her left and she’s looking straight ahead.

You had me at no harem. There are not enough good non-harem stories.

It would be a real great thing to have this work through you JN.
