May 2023 announcements!

Lily Garden

I was just wondering yesterday when the next announcement livestream was going to happen!

Y'all know my wishlist, is there anything in particular that you guys are hoping to hear announced?

Silver Sugar Duchess

@Lily-Garden Look above you.

Lily Garden

@Silver-Sugar-Duchess you inspired me to ask everyone the question 😉

FacelessOne

@Lily-Garden No particular titles, but I'd love to see some more romcoms licensed, especially the fluffy kind.

Ardyvee

I do wish we'd get more women as leads outside of romance-centric titles. Where are the badass female adventurers? Or the noblewomen navigating war? Or the scrawny girls trying to save the world from the big bad evil, but also trying real hard to not get swooped away by the royal family?

Anyway, just, in general, even if it were the same wish fulfillment harem protagonist going from zero to hero, just... can it be a teenage girl/young woman? Just, ya know, for variety?

piisfun

I think a random, silly story that no one quite expects would be nice.

GeorgeMTO

@Ardyvee Lina Inverse (Slayers) was too good, and scared the other authors off years ago :P

I wouldn't mind some more though, Death's Daughter and the Ebony Blade has been quite good, and I'm kinda curious if the Sorcerer's Receptionist v4 would be significant enough to get mentioned on a stream for when it starts prepubs considering it was supposed to be a complete series. Unfortunately there's also just less of them to license, the demographic is just male dominated.

kuali

@Lily-Garden I don't have anything completely new on my list, but personally, I'm hoping for the LN of Fii's Bread Fetish (or Lady Rose Just Wants to be a Commoner, as its more commonly known).

And there's a couple of LN series I'd like to see the manga of. Death's Daughter and the Extinction of Cake or Density Level 99: I may be the Hidden Boss, but that doesn't give me common sense!, especially.

Rahul Balaggan

@kuali

99 Manga was recently licensed by One Peace Books.

Silver Sugar Duchess

@Lily-Garden Scratch the Parallel World Pharmacy novel and manga. One Peace Books got the manga, I don‘t think it will be long and they license the novel too...

@kuali said in May 2023 announcements!:

Fii's Bread Fetish

OK, this is my new favorite fan title for this series. :-)

Hyperion

@Lily-Garden

The Lucia spin-off of Dahlia would be nice.

Oishii Veranda would be even better, if highly unlikely. BTW, thank you Lily for promoting it so many times. 😊

myskaros

It's been a while, but we do have hints for this round of announcements!

piisfun

A short title? Those still exist?

And one ridiculously long title...

Windsagio

One of those hints has some idspispopd energy

Crimson Wise

is there anything in particular that you guys are hoping to hear announced?

... ironically, I'd like some original manga. JNC has chosen those well so far.

As for light novels, while I still want some of the usual old series with anime/GAGAGA (Humanity has Declined, someday), with the licenses lately with mostly series I don't know anything about, I always find some interesting stuff to read.

Lily Garden

@myskaros Hints! It's been so long! 😊

For series #3 all I kind think of is Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway but that's already licensed by Yen Press

FacelessOne

@Lily-Garden At first, I thought that hint might be suggesting an isekai, but your idea has made me think maybe it's something like Rabudame where the MC treats things like a rom-com, which you definitely shouldn't do in real life.

pcj

The first hint made me immediately think of the Futari wa Precure novel. But we've already been told straight up by Sam that it would never sell enough to be worth it, so that can't be it...

codex

@piisfun I’m praying for Twelve Kingdoms.
