Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You.

I just picked up the first volume of this series at my FLCS yesterday. It's from Square Enix, and is a slice of life romance story. The main characters are a middle aged office worker and his favorite cashier. However, since she changes her look slightly when she's off the clock, and gave him a fake name when they began to hang out. He doesn't realize that she is. His density is pointed out quite often because he's still clueless, but we've all had situations where we didn't recognize someone out of context. (I've got a particularly embarrassing story about not recognizing an ex when she went through my line at work once. She and I had been friends since the 7th grade no less.)
It's especially cute because there's definite chemistry, but an age difference keeps things at a just friends level. Which is something I really identify with...

@PuckGoodfellow00-0 Love this series! Very cute chemistry between the leads. It's a good take on the Dense ML trope (density understandably justified because he's conscious of being an older, worn down office worker who shouldn't hit on younger ladies).

Oh yeah, Yamada even assumes he's a dirty old man at the beginning, and he makes it clear that he just likes her personality.
The flashback in the end where a younger Sasaki reamed out a rude customer before Yamada learned her Customer Service attitude was awesome. Realistic too, I've had things like that happen while I was working a Register.

@PuckGoodfellow00-0 Yes! That was satisfying for my retail trauma. Customer service workers catch so much awful behavior from customers (and bosses), that I can see how she'd see him as a white knight. Luckily her boss is pretty cool (Cooler than 95% of the bosses I've ever had.)
