@myskaros I still try to give information on what I know about the series, and why I like it.
-
@myskaros Just having fun with the Red Handedness as @Terrence said. out of the recent ones I posted "Chivalry of a Failed Knight" and "Listen to me girls, I am your Father." I said why for Chivalry some time ago but it is because there is actually a relationship that goes places. and For the Father one, I have seen a bit of the Anime and It looks like it can tell a really good story, with the struggle of poverty, and single Guardianship.
Edit: It also depends on how much time I have at the moment of posting the recommendations and how tired or lack of I am.
-
@rahul-balaggan That's fair, but you're also not posting images in bulk every other day. Again, I'm trying to be cognizant that (I think?) I'm the only person who's complained so if the community is fine with it, then I will continue to just mostly ignore this topic.
@Drone205 Yeah, didn't intend to point fingers at you, it's just a situation that's been going on for a while now and Terabyte happened to post something where I got a little dig in.
To reiterate for everyone's sake, I am aware that I am just one-sidedly resenting @Terrence's style of posts. I complained once or twice but no one else seemed to have any problem with it, so I just kind of avoid this topic now. I apologize for sowing any seeds of drama.
EDIT: To be completely fair to Terrence, I think my memories are also exaggerating the situation quite a bit, as I just browsed the past dozen or so pages and it's not nearly as "bad" as my brain made me think it was >_> so I'll just be over here in the corner, experiencing my mental acuity drop by the second.

I kind of like avoiding synopses, because I like to go in blind sometimes (of course, there are exceptions; if the title doesn't translate well, and there's no color inserts, then I gotta look at the synopsis).
But yeah, I have been putting the links lately since you said something so that at least you have the ability to find the info (gonna need Google Translate in your browser though if you want a broken machine translated title or synopsis).

I'm probably Late to the Party with this, but is anyone interested in / can vouch for Dance With The Dragons? Anytime I see an anime, I try to find out if it is a light novel property these days, and then I don't watch it in hopes they'll localize it (which is probably a bad way to show interest, but hey, I don't want to ruin my LN reading experience).
Those aren't even available to purchase off Bookwalker if you live in the West (it doesn't even let you go to the store page on mobile). =[
-
@terrence The only Dance with Dragons I know is the fifth installment of A Song of Ice and Fire, but I don't think that's what you're referring to ^^U

Here's the anime preview, ha ha.
And the light novel.

@terrence hmmm, didn't know that one was up for the next season. Looks sick, but I'm always afraid those overly serious-looking series might devolve into cringey edgyness.
-
Its also from the same illustrator who worked on "Rokka No Yuusha".
But yeah, the series "Sareyuu" is quite long, there's about 20-plus volumes and counting
-
I suggest kuma kuma bear くま クマ 熊 ベアー
-
Hentai Ōji to Warawanai Neko is one of my suggestions, especially that is series has just completed with 12 volumes. This title is published by Media Factory of Kadogawa.
-
J-Novel should work with Kadokawa, since they control around 45% of LN publishing.

I'm sure they would if they could. I do wonder if the all-digital model holds back that partnership from happening? Kadokawa has so many different titles and labels, it'd be great to get anything from them.
As an aside, on the Curiosity Cat someone was asking about how One Peace managed to get the Shield Hero content from them. Certainly interesting how a smaller pub in the LN scene was able to do that.
-
@terrence for what it’s worth Shield Hero was acquired before the 51% purchase of Yen Press
-
@theo yes i am sure 100% of all users agree, however if it were that easy it would have been done.

But they did manage to acquire the Spear Hero Spin-off this year too. So at least the Shield Hero partnership has continued passed the original series.
Was Mikagura School Suite Kadokawa? That was released in 2017 by One Peace. No second volume in sight though...
@rahul-balaggan said in Novel pick-up requests:
Also V2 of Mikagura, and V3 of Mikagura.
Ooh, nice. So the pre-orders exist.
Now I just need my Sound Eupho.
-
@terrence Shield Hero is Media Factory, and so is the spin off and so is Mikagura.
So originally One Peace got to Kadokawa’s Media Factory property and now has clout and got some more books.
Also V2 of Mikagura, and V3 of Mikagura. The fact that it’s all media Factory and that the relationship started before the yen press take over helps connect the dots (at least in my mind)
-
I'd like to request "Gonna be the Twintail!!!" be added to the list of light novels.
-
From what I recall, Kadokawa has Enterbrain, ASCII Media Works (Dengeki Bunko), and Media Factory (MF Bunko J).
The only LN company that doesn't have the LNs licensed, on YP's side, is Fantasia Bunko.
Fantasia Bunko is known for DXD, Saekano, plus "Oda Nobuna No Yabou".
Idk if Kadokawa owns Gagaga Bunko, but they do own Kadokawa Sneaker.
I just don't get why YP licensed the manga versions of Saekano and DXD, which are under Fantasia Bunko, but not their LNs....
-
@xftg123 More then likely it was deemed to have a high sell rate with the manga then the light novel.
The manga base overseas is ginormous especially compared to the light novel base overseas it’s still really young. Especially with a series like DxD people will wanna see the lewds not picture it in their heads and the manga will provide them with whatever Lewds they want.
As for Saekano it was probably the genre that made Yen stick to the manga.
It’s gonna take a lot of time before everyone embraces light novels as they do manga, my friends in particular won’t even humor me when I give them my novels to read, they just ask if there is a manga, one of them is in love with Danmachi cause of the anime and i gave him all the novels to read and he said nah he will read the manga even though it doesn’t go past season 1
