@xftg123 Gagaga Bunko is part of Shogakukan.
A publisher I'd love JNC to work with since they have Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu.! -
@xftg123
I am quite interested in it since it's been on Kono LN ga sugoi!
Actually, I am interested in all works that hit the list~ -
@xftg123
YP does have one Fujimi Bunko title (not from Fujimi Fantasia label but from the same Kadokawa subsidiary.)
Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai KyousoukyokuSo, hope that means that Fujimi is OK to be back in US market (after all, most of TokyoPOP titles were from Fujimi like Slayers & Full Metal Panic!)

All the series I am gonna mention rn will be from Kodansha or one of affiliated companies. (There will be no other connection than I want them to be translated~xD)
Kodansha Box:
I mentioned Ryukishi07's Higurashi before so, let's mention
Umineko no Naku Koro ni & Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru
8 volumes + ongoingI think everyone knows the VN~
Kodansha BOX without NisiOisiN is blasphemy so:
Katanagatari
Loved the anime and need the novels in my life! And his recent series that is about a detective whose memory resets every day (& everyone is thinking it's Hanekawa) and one truly unfortunate man. He's so unfortunate that misfortune is in his name (for real)
Boukyaku Tantei Series
Well, that's enough from BOX even tho, I got more on my list~
Let's talk Taiga
Bishounen Series
They are detectives.
They are Bishounen.
It's by NisiOisiN.
No need to know more~xD
Taishou Hako Musume Series
I won't deny it
I want this cuz I like the art.
Yeah, it sounds like cool mystery/fantasy series but it's the art that makes me wanna read it.Taiga also has latest work by Hakomari's author, Eiji Mikage (Satsujinki Tantei no Netsuzou Bigaku) which I mentioned before along its synopsis
Kodansha NOVELS/Bunko
Sekai Series
It's no secret that NisiOisiN likes Boogiepop's author Kouhei Kadono work and when he writes a series that depends on retelling the same event from different perspectives, he got asked about this. That series was this one~
Shinsekai yori
If you watched the anime, you know what this is~The last label I am gonna mention~
Seikaisha BunkoRed Dragon
Why is this interesting?Well, it has Gen Urobuchi (Madoka, Psychopass, Saya no Uta), Kinoko Nasu (Type-Moon), Ryohgo Narita (Durarara!!, Baccano!), Makoto Sanda (Rental Magica), Izuki Kougyoku (Mimizuku to Yoru no Ou), Simadoriru (member of the Stripe Pattern doujin circle) listed as auhtors.

Will the island country be able to regain its independence?Marginal Operation
You are NEET but need to get over it, join a war.
-Adult MC - Check
-Fatherhood - Check
-Middle Eastern War - CheckWell, that's enough for now, I guess (lol)
-
@bloodygaikotsu Red Dragon had an anime adaptation, and afaik, it's more of a replay of a tabletop RPG played by all those authors, that's why they are all involved, each author played a character in the story. The anime was a trainwreck though.
EDIT: HOLY CRAP1!!! Okitegami Kyouko is written by Nisioisin?? I loved the manga, can't believe the original novels were written by him, he really is a master of mistery.

I've read the last one, a little bit. Ecstas Online. It's not a mecha one, that's just a big suit of armor. Basic premise is that the main character and his entire class were using a VR program for class when it accidentally inputted them into a game world, and they cannot log out. So SAO type story.
The twist is that the main character was secretly working as a programming for the game developer, and when he logged in he's put into the role of the "Last Boss" character, which is that big mecha looking guy on the cover. (It's just his armor, he looks normal when he takes it off). Meanwhile the class are all in the role of heroes and they believe that by beating the boss they can "clear" the game and go back home.
He finds out from a fellow dev that programmers in real life are working very hard to help them log out. However, he absolutely MUST not let anyone clear the game because if that happens the server will just shut down and everyone dies. Also, while all the hero players can just respawn if they die in game, the bad guy characters do not so if he gets killed he dies for good.
It's a decent premise... but execution it's bad. The MC keeps taking off his armor to spy on his classmates and pretends to be a normal guy, he has to prevent anyone from finding out he's the last boss in case they decide to just straight up murder him, he loses most of his powers when he's out of his armor and he's too scared to fight or go dungeon crawling since unlike the classmates he only has one life.
When he is in the armor there's some knock-off Overlord style comedy where his subordinates all think he's this terrifying demon lord, and he has to act the part even though he totally doesn't think that way. There's also a female NPC who's madly in love with him, Albedo-style.
-
@chi-c Sorry to hear about the failings, I caught the manga adaptation and thought it was an interesting idea. Oh well, not like there's a shortage of stories to read :x
-
@chi-c Yea, I agree about Ecstas Online. I read the first volume like 4 months ago or so, it's really just kind of bad. The author has some sort of messed up molestation fetish which was a huge turn-off for me.
-
@aruseus493 Ugh, don't get me started about all the molestation.
-
@chi-c Isn't it the same author as that <Something> HxH one?

Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia! Where the girls turn sexual assault into magic energy! Wholesome, serious plot!
-
Yep, "Masou Gakuen HXH" is definitely very lewd
-
@xftg123 well, it's drawn by Hisasi, at the very least the art is pretty
lewd -
@paulnamida I freaking love his art. It's quite nice (and vanilla)

Anyway, one series I'm surprised we haven't had licensed yet is "10-nen Goshi no Hikineet wo Yamete Gaishutsu Shitara 1 Jitaku Goto Isekai ni Tensou Shiteta"
Plus its under the Overlap label. For those wondering what its about: "Houjou Yuuji, 30 years old, jobless, hikkomori for 10 years. Using his parents’ death as the impetus, he decides to rid himself of his hikkomori life and leaves the house. What awaited him, however, was a different world that he was not used to, creatures strutting about that he didn’t recognize.
This is the story of a man transported to the another world, as he lives in relative peace with his beloved dog Kotarou – his house, with electricity, water, gas, and the internet somehow still connected.
One day while exploring the forest near his house he finds a girl named Alice, and becomes her guardian. Thus, 4 years after he is transported to this world, Yuuji resolves to venture into his first town."
There's a WN version to this story, which has been translated before. The WN ended with over 500 chapters. There's currently 5 LN Volumes out. But the series is an overall romcom slice of life with fantasy and adventure to it.
Oh, there's also a harem.
