Acquisitions Speculation - General

Those aren't new, though.
I'm hoping one or two from Overlap like Lazy Dungeon Master. And maybe if we're REALLY LUCKY a non-Yen Kadokawa property, but that's a long hope.

Will there be new license announcements soon? — Yes! I have 5 series in various stages of readiness.

One of them is from Overlap.

Gotta be this one!
(I'm not serious, though I wouldn't mind a "Muscle head Aniki" story). xP
World Teacher is a possibility maybe? They have a few interesting looking series in the novel section (I don't know which of the "Immortal Adventurer" / "Skeleton knight" books are good though).
-
If one of them is an Overlap title, I'll guess Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha

This is the other skeleton knight one. They're both Overlap. =P
Sidenote: It's crazy that of the Bunkos by Overlap, only 3 have reached a conclusion according to Bookwalker.

Rest in peace Isekai ni Tensei Shitandakedo Ore, Tensai tte Kanchigai Saretenai?

This was from Curiosity Cat.
How many more licences do you have that you have yet to announce? And when are you going to announce them? — More than a couple? Less than a handful?
Also, I believe Sam said we may be getting another license announcement before the end of the month. Emphasis on "maybe" in response to the direct question, because we're pretty late in the month now. xD
-
With pretty much many series catch up I hope the newer one would be good. I still hope they license Seiken Tsukai no World Break so that I can get weekly dose of Shizuno.
-
I'm in work and forgot my tablet so can't access social media including Discord but.. this wasn't here yesterday I'm sure:

@shiroi-hane It wasn't. New series.
-
Wow, snuck that title in there right at the end of the month! Turns out that "maybe" wasn't like your mom saying "We'll see, maybe we'll go to Disney World next Summer". xP

A speculation thread is already up and running on reddit for the new J-Novel license hints, but I'll post them here for any who want to speculate here:
- It happens to me all the time...
- Half an Army of Evil
- They Usually Appear Around Lv 3
- Not a light novel
-
- Not a light novel
O.o
Yay! This opens up a whole world of license possibilities if they start getting novel-novels.
- It happens to me all the time...
Progressive something or other?
-
For not a light novel, the popular one that comes to mind is Hyouka. But I remember Sam talking about trying to get a book that was some kind of non-fiction (I don't remember exactly what it was, but I thought it had some kind of well-known author in terms of manga/anime), so that's perhaps more likely.

I was thinking Shiki or Shin Sekai No Yori.
Of course, that's just wishful thinking on my part.
I think we should probably look at alternate labels from publishers we're already getting for that novel.
On a side note, someone said Sam mentioned the new horror books he got haven't exceeded expectations. I do wonder if that is in part because they're adaptations of videogames, not original light novels. I mean, most of the time, I'd prefer to participate with the original source (hence avoiding manga and anime adaptations of light novels / Visual Novels).
Of course, it's still early to judge those since they're relatively new, right?
I read An Oni on here, so I probably won't grab that. I'm going to pick up Yume Nikki with a credit (but debating if I should run through the game on my own first before reading the book).

Hm, I'm wondering if the Kodansha Box titles would count as “not a light novel”. They would have some interesting titles like Umineko. However, considering Sam it might as well be a LN about a heavy character or about a very dark place.
-
Someone was speculating on Reddit the novel could be The Perfect Insider. I think that's Kodansha label.
I really am curious about it, though I wonder how that series would hold up for the long haul (Is there romance? Do the mysteries stay self-contained, or do stories ever extend into multiple volumes or have lots of set up between volumes?). I'm definitely interested though.

@hatguy12 Where did you find that page? I can’t seem to navigate there from the main site.
-
I'm not sure when or if it was ever linked from the main site. It was probably in twitter at some point. It's linked in the first post of this forum thread and in the reddit post.
