Acquisitions Speculation - General

And it's over, no more announcements.
-
Still really good, I never expected these two big bangers to be ever get announced, let alone ever get a official translation. So I take them, also looking forward to read the most selling HJ license (Seirei Gensouki). I also will dip my toes in the others, as well.
Today was a good day.
-
Anyone know what the "Highly Requested" was? Contracts with Kadokawa, or a specific title?
-
Whoops, the teaser went up after the stream ended.
-
Well then, J-Manga.club incoming.
-
@fezu Surprisingly, the domain is available for registration.
-
@_08 Well, that kind of sucks. I honestly think though it will be on this website, but it's kind of weird if Sam wouldn't separate it. Also, how will the membership for Manga works. Will Light Novel Premium Members have access to Manga? Can we use our tokens on Manga instead? I am really curious to get more details on this.
-
@fezu Even though they say manga, won't it be only light novel adaptations in the end?
-
@non8 That could be twist on it, yeah. We'll see.
-
I'm never gonna get the series I want. Might as well quit this hobby.
-
Yes!! Im at work but checked out forums to see what was licensed and I am so happy. We can get LNS we dreamed of now!
-
Oh man, so much to read and no time at all... I was right to not start For My Daughter Vol.6 yet lol
Of the new 8 LNs announced today I am interested in 5-6 of them at least.

Access to Hayakawa Publishing means Crest of the Stars is possible...
-
Are we not supposed to talk about Manga Club like we don't talk about Fight Club?
I did see it was in the announcements page when I checked (so two of the slots were specialty announcements it seems).

Ooh, make a thread about it. I'll upvote almost anything labeled space opera.
I think I'll throw my money at Hayakawa, Kadokawa, and Earthstar series since I want more from those pubs.
Having Kadokawa in the fold makes me want to make a thread for the Gargantia sequel too. Maybe I'll do that.
-
@terrence Want Gargantia sequel so bad!

So, A license "rescue", huh? I wonder which one...
Rescue in quotation marks... Curious.
Edit: I think this may not be a license rescue on Sam's part, but on a Japanese publisher's part. Someone hinted at one of the licenses being
This was indeed the case, right? Orphen was the license "rescue", "saved" by switching publishers in Japan?
-
The order of announcements directly lines up with the hints. Seigensou license was "rescued" from coughcough certain parties, the print copies were highly requested, etc.
-
@terrence If you look at the "rescue" being in quotation marks, Seigensou starts the story with the main character rescuing a girl... so it can be taken in the non-literal sense.
-
@cherrychez I meant it as a double meaning with that girl rescue and "rescuing" it from the clutches of the WN fan "translator".
