Here is a question is anyone out there genuinely happy about the Eva LN?

I am not being snippy or anything just really curious seems like a lot of hate.

I haven’t ever watched or read anything from the Eva franchise and don’t know anything about the stories so I am happy to read something brand new to me, but I can’t say I am genuinely excited they picked Eva over the many other things I wanna read.

I want more Mecha too, I just think I prefer something original, not an adaptation of something we can already participate with in English, even if there's some diverging (it says a different ending is the major change, so how much of the novel does this new material take up? Or is it the whole series that is an alternate telling of the ending, so you have to watch the show first? Is it just the final few pages of the last volume?).

You know what would be cool that has mechs? Xenogears Perfect Works. If that got licensed, I'd finally play the game. Of course... That's not original either, but it does provide closure to what was a cancelled series with I think info about where it would have gone? xS

Right now, it's not something that interests me. But ask me again after Netflix puts up Eva for streaming later this year and I finally get to watch it.

All the Arifureta licenses from Seven Seas are pretty much just straight up appeasing to me I think. I wonder when they're gonna ask for that first born./I totally didn't blackmail them or anything.

I really loved Eva back in the 90s/early 2000s but haven’t seen it since so the book is actually interesting to mess it’ll be a good refresh, I imagine I’ll buy them.

I wouldn’t say I’m over the moon for the books but there’s lots of announcements I’m less interested in.

Side note likely of interest to no one: I did an electro punk song about Evangeleon back in the day and it was always one of the big hits of our sets. I can still remember jumping around screaming “I’m the messiah of the new age”...

So, colour me surprised, it's a whole pile of nothing again, I honestly thought SS would throw me at least one bone or smth. It has been a while since I saw literally nothing of interest in the three licensing events from different publishers in a row.

Oh well, we do have some pretty interesting new upcoming stuff from YP, SS and Vertical set for this year anyway. If only we didn't have to wait for those for so long after the announcement, why can't we just have SS or YP selection and JNC distribution method, haha...
