Seven Seas - April 2020 survey available!

Rahul Balaggan

@myskaros hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

This does actually relate to a random comment I said in the past on twitter, is Viz media still interested in new manga.

The seem to be focusing less and less on manga and more on American comics, games, and anime over the last year or so.

And ever since that happened 7S has been picking up the slack, I can only imagine that internally they are shifting and that allowed 7S to make some deals because the parent companies know that Viz is shifting business strategies

myskaros

@rahul-balaggan VIZ did pick up Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai, Maou-jou de Oyasumi, Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Kanata no Astra, all releasing this year, so I would say I do not agree with that speculation. I can't speak to whether the amount of pick-up titles is fewer than they were before, though, but they've never been in the ecchi side of manga, so 7S getting those isn't as surprising as it would be if they get Binbougami-ga, which is more of a mainstream action/comedy similar to Gintama or JoJo.

LostBust

Now that the May Survey is out I'll go ahead and post what I chose for this months survey(sorry might be doing something wrong am New to this kind of thing!) .
Manga-
1.)Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru
2.)Futaba san no Kyoudai
Light Novels-
1.)Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita
2.)Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear
If your curious as to what these titles are just look them up on Baka updates there actually pretty Interesting Series!

Terrence

Whoa, May survey already out?!

I gotta go through my list. I got a bunch that interest me. I think one of those "I got Isekai'd and I have to lose weight" novels I want. Maybe that 'I'm the Daughter of a Family With Evil Faces, so People Think We're Nefarious' novel too.

Death Game manga / novels I think I want too. Hmmm...

myskaros

I would love for 7S to give some kind of reaction or feedback or something to give us some kind of indication of what titles they want, or don't want, or anything really O_o I'm just not sure if it's better to keep submitting the same titles or to switch it up.

Anyway, I went with 75% consistency, 25% random spice:

Manga: Darwin's Game, Iris Zero
LN: Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu, Konjiki no Moji Tsukai

Terrence

I got my two LN:

Leg Mimic (treasure chest reincarnation)
Execution Tarot (Escape Game)

Manga (maybes for now):
When the notice of the end of the love harem game comes

And maybe "Appli Trap" or one of the other class game type manga.

BloodyGaikotsu

I usually change titles every month
Well, we won't get any results outta the survey till they announce their new licenses (probably in a summer con like Anime Expo)

I went with
Manga:
Getsuyoubi no Tomodachi
alt text
It's award-winning, 2-volume manga that ranked #4 on Kono Manga ga sugoi 2018
Learned about it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fodRoRdDSug

My other manga entry was Love Lab
Man, I really love this series and Ruri Miyahara work in general~

For novels, I went with:
-Gamers!
-Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri

DoubleMangekyo

This time I went with Imouto wa Shishunki. It's 10 volumes long, by the author of Seitokai Yakuindomo.

Rootbeermaster

for the light novel's I went with

Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi

and

Fairy Tale Chronicle -Kuuki Yomanai Isekai Life

and I never know what to put for the manga, I have to many to read already and I am kind of trying to cut back on manga & comics for more light novels.

but I went with Beatless and Working!!! this time, Beatless since the light novel might be in licensing hell, like Aria The Scarlet Ammo.

The Working Anime Always kills me since my friends and I like to eat at I-Hop or Denny's on the weekend.

Terrence

Don't forget to get your requests in guys...

I still haven't done mine yet. xC

Edit: Done. It was basically what I posted above, I just added the 41 year old and his family Isekai title to my requests.

I love Working! =]

Glad we at least got Servant x Service stateside too.

Theo

I requested "Record of Grancrest war" and "Another World Pharmacy"

Terrence

@theo said in Seven Seas - May 2018 survey available!:

"Another World Pharmacy"

I kinda want that one. I'd upvote a thread for it.

Aruseus493

@terrence
I think someone posted it under the Japanese/Romaji title.

myskaros

@aruseus493 @terrence If you're talking about Isekai Yakkyoku, then no, no one's created a topic yet.

Aruseus493

@myskaros
Oops, my bad. I mistook it with Kusuriya no Hitorigoto which had someone post a fan-translated title. I automatically associate Pharmacist with Isekai Yakkyoku.

LostBust

The June Survey is up! This time I went with these titles:
1.)Happy Sugar Life (Manga)
2.)Classroom of the Elite (Manga)
3.)Assassins Pride (Light Novel)
4.)Konjiki no Word Master (Light Novel)

myskaros

Now that we know Micromagazine won't do digital-only, gotta go begging for TSKD elsewhere D:

Manga
- Darwin's Game
- Hatsukoi Zombie
LN
- Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita
- Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu

Aruseus493

Link to the Survey
This month, I went with:

Light Novels

Manga

Gate: Where the JSDF Fought! (Save the series from Sekai Project.)
Angel Beats! Heaven's Door (I won't let them forget.)

If anyone is going to Anime Expo, pleas ask Seven Seas about the status of their Angel Beats! Heaven's Door manga and harass Sekai Project about the Gate manga.

I'd be kind of worried about anything with a nationalistic slant after New Life +. =[

There's apparently a panel in the manga that suggests Japan hasn't in the past committed atrocities like other countries have.

Aruseus493

@terrence

I love the series regardless of any nationalistic issues honestly.
