Seven Seas - April 2020 survey available!

DoubleMangekyo

I really want someone to bring over the Shaman King Kanzenban edition.
Now that it's owned by Kodansha I was hoping they would announce an English release. But it's now four months later and we got nothing...

myskaros

Slight change here; after Average Abilities's releases, I'd prefer someone else get the TSKD LN, but I figure Seven Seas could keep going with FUNA stuff.

Happy

Light Novels:

Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen
This one has 2 enemies waging a war for their land and falling in love with eachother - personal favorite.
Akashic Records of the Bastard Magical Instructor
Well this one should be known enough

Manga:

Itou-kun wa Koi wo Shiranai
A very fluffy read IMO, a ghost comes to live in modern day Japan in the hopes of understanding emotiones, people - gets a girlfriend pretty soon and its about them, very enjoyable.
Ojousama no Shimobe
A little bit of a ecchi manga - about a guy whose father is a butler and mother a maid - at some poin they both send him the Ojou-sama of their respective households and he needs to take care of both of them.

Hyperion

Manga:

Light Novel:

I almost went with something different for the light novels, but decided to stay unoriginal : )

BloodyGaikotsu

I went with

Novels:
Kono Koi to, sono Mirai.
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko

Manga:
3-Gatsu no lion
Kanojo, Okarishimasu

BloodyGaikotsu

I think I'll rec that new novel by the Welcome To The NHK author, "Light-Novel" (cheeky title). Haven't read much about it of course, just the author pedigree and that it releases in November. Yoshitoshi Abe (Serial Experiments Lain) did the cover.

Ended up going with:

Manga:

Gal Gohan
The Legendary Mother

Light Novel:

The Magical Power of the Saint is All Around

Debating this final one. Thinking of going with "Twin Knights in the City of Love"
https://bookwalker.jp/de79d17639-420e-478f-b1a4-769c82425579/?acode=WpfPW3yk

If I want to be boring, I'll go with Sakurako-san again.

Light-Novel I'll save for when it is actually out I think.

Happy

@terrence

Gal Gohan

that one is so enjoyable, love it

Shhotaku

I've voted for Gal Gohan a few times. I'm glad other people are as well! They probably wouldn't even need to put it in Ghost Ship since it's only slightly ecchi. Not on Yuuna & Hot Springs level.

Oh volume 5 just came out.. maybe I'll just get the Japanese print versions when I have the money..

Terrence

Seven Seas is hiring LN translators for a fantasy series.

alt text

Terabyte

Maybe Skeleton Knight? 🤔

Rahul Balaggan

@terabyte If they are looking for a translator for a series that they already officially announced then we are all doomed.

We will be skeleton knights by the time V1 comes out.

Terabyte

@rahul-balaggan Well, SK V1 is scheduled for June 2019 if I recall right, so there's plenty of time. Always possible that their current translator had to drop the project because of issues. Or it might just be another series completely that they have yet to announce.

Terrence

Seven Seas will be announcing a new light novel license Friday (if certain requirements are met on their Facebook social media page).

As an aside, the October Survey is still showing as up. =/

TheRedJet

@terrence i would appreciate light novel for Ghost Ship imprint :D

Terrence

Wouldn't mind that...

Though someone bumped the Bunny Gal topic and now I'm hoping it's that. Either way though, we'd still be waiting into mid 2019 for it probably... Better to strike while the anime is hot if they can (I suppose they could release early digitally, like with Abilities Average).

Terrence

It was Restaurant to Another World that got announced. Definitely a nice surprise. =)

MenyKanzaki

@terrence They said they are preparing a very special survey for November/December that is why they are taking so much time

Terrence

New survey up. You can submit 18 licenses. They're broken down into category apparently. Going to give it a look.

My votes are in.. I'll put them below in text form if I can. No Yaoi votes since I don't know any (I should've voted for that "My Best Friend Has a Harem in a Fantasy World").

Manga:
Abyss
How to train your Devil
Cheerful Amnesia
This Art Club Has a Problem
Legend of Mother
Survival Game Club
Slayers (?)

Light Novel:
ZoaHunter
Sakurako-san (Beautiful Bones)
Legend of Arslan
Sōkyū no Karuma (Date a Live author)
Remake Our Life! (Time-Travel back to college novel)
Gothic Lolita Ping-Pong
Attacking the Dungeon With My Beautiful Boss is OT Work?
Light-Novel (Tatsuhiko Takimoto's new work)

...and a few others I'm already forgetting. xC

Edit: They say it's generally best to format these with Romajii titles. So, if you're submitting, maybe do that.
