I think that's probably enough digression from the main topic though.

Meta comment: have the staff ever forked a sub-topic for being off-topic? 8-) 8-)

    Yea, verily, yea!

@clarys I got hooked on Bookworm recently and the point of no return for me was the last 3 episodes of the anime.
The story was nice and all, very interesting in fact, and suddenly there is the trombe extermination with the Knights Order.
A downpour of science fantasy out of nowhere, a new part of the world that's released and then... it stops. Mindblowing.
It's really inviting you to pick the next book to know what's happening.

And as the books are much better than the anime...
(well, I'll skip the part where I've been reading day and night for weeks in a row, I ended up so exhausted that it's a bit embarrassing)

But should you warn your friends of AoaB's possible addictive effects?

To convince someone to read it, I would use an argument based not on reason but on feelings, that it really brings sparks in one's life. And as it's a long lasting serie, getting Bookworm sparks every weeks for a long time is definitely worth the investment!

And just to nudge things to a better place of comparison those 60 year olds would be in their 70s in our world.

Unfortunately Ferdinand is thin on details: was the attack simply a disturbance or did they want to abduct or assassinate? I hope we will learn more!

Does anyone know what the light purple fruit is called? It's the fruit (or possibly vegetable) that looks like a purple tomato and it's on the front cover of Part 1 Volume 1. It's also on the cover of the 1st Fanbook.

Thanks to the Comixology sale I snatched all they had and immediately dove into this side story... Ooof. This POV is definitely a big deal and reframes so much of what Ferdinand was about. I was trying to think of how this situation could possibly be used against him but seeing it essentially spelled out was illuminating. He's a big ol' softie... in his own noble standards way and at least now I can accept the fact that he truly believed he couldn't succeed at saving the orphans himself.

Also hilarious to hear how quickly Myne's presence was actually an enormous boon to him even if he would never dare admit it. Maybe some day we'll get there without him doing so in his usual guarded fashion. Probably Part 5.

“None at all. They won, and so I will stand down,” Lestilaut replied, kneeling before the prince and announcing that he would leave Schwartz and Weiss alone. I sighed in relief, which made him glare at me. “I saw with my own eyes your string of vile plots, however. I will never accept that you are a saint.”*

I reread the book, and after seeing this again, I really wondered why he was so angry with Rosemyne. Then I thought of his little sister’s brief meeting with Rosemyne.

I’m thinking somebody has a "siscon" going on!

I also think that we will not see a change of aub in Ehrenfest.

The story is around the "child" Rozemyne, I doubt we will see her as a full adult. She may reach her coming of age cerimony (so maybe age 15-16), but I doubt Sylvester will abdicate to her at that age, and I doubt he will die.

Or even, "we chop up trees to make books", which is probably what Rozemyne would think.

I wonder what type of pages that tree would provide us

Pages soaked in the tears and blood of whatever foal dares attack Treesus

In this volume, there are a couple of "knight barracks" for the translation of 騎士寮.
Except for P2V3 and this volume, it is translated as "knight dorm" in all other volumes.

Considering that BOTH Effa and Gunther have dead parents... not that long for the lower city. Just about the oldest lower city resident introduced was the Guildmaster at 50. We see from the fanbook that Bonifatus was introduced at 61 and his main wife would be the daughter of the old giebe Leisegang. Same source gives us Karstadt at 37 and Eckhart at 18. Yeah, nobles do tend to live longer, so long as they don't die young (I suspect that Veronica is the source of much of this death, as she is a plague upon Ehrenfest).

We know for sure that Grey priest can't marry, but we do not know for sure for Blue priests.

That said, being able to marry and being able to have sexual relationships are different things.

We know for sure that sex is not forbidden in any way for priests, since Flower Offering is a thing.

    .

My opinion is that Priests can't marry while they stay in the temple, for the simple reason that officially marrying would mean starting an household and recognizing the eventual child as heirs.

A priest, not being indipendent but being supported financially by the temple and its parent family donations, probably can't support a family. It doesn't make much sense for the temple to provide for his childs and wife, and even less the future generations after that.

It would also create the problem of how to classify his wife and childs. Would they be considered nobles or parts of the temple?

I think that in general Priests and Shrine maiden can't officially marry while in the temple, and every potential childs made would be sent to the orphanage as an orphan.
    .

That said, I think that there is nothing stopping one priest to marry if he is able to return to the noble society. I doubt that there is any sort of oath of celibacy or anything similar.
As an example, if Ferdinand (who is able to return to the noble society) decides to marry, he would simply stop being a priest and start a family as a noble. Same would happen to all the ex-priests returned to noble society like Shikza or Christine.

Also, nothing stops priests from having love affairs. They just aren't able to marry and make things officially recognized.

That is also confirmed by we knowing that the former High Bishop had a mistress, and Delia wish to be able to become one since they get blue-priest like treatment (with their own attendants).

    Hello,

Looks like this topic has been fully addressed and a side topic is starting.

By all means opening a new topic to discuss MTL, or even reviving one of the older ones is perfectly fine.

For this topic, as the main point has been addressed, I will be locking it down.

    Thank you
