@kuali said in Bookworm (Manga) Part 4 Vol 5 Discussion:

@arghc They were there in the LN, too:

In the end, however, my fears were unfounded. Hirschur came to the class, along with many other professors whom I didn’t recognize.
    ...
The other professors wasted no time in positioning themselves around me, seeming to be preparing for the worst. I bemoaned their lack of trust in me, which only made Hirschur break into a smile.

“Lady Rozemyne, everyone here is interested in your highbeast. They are all passionate researchers with enough interest in new things to have warranted me calling upon them,” she explained.

In other words, they weren’t actually on guard—they were looking at me with the intrigued looks one would give a research subject. I decided it was probably best for me to obediently show them Lessy and put on a show to prove he wasn’t dangerous.

@Foxtale I think that is the story in Drama CD 7 called "Forced choice" in an unofficial translation.

It isn't as easy to notice with a digital copy but that is definitely a thick volume, it looks like it is at least 2/3 the size of the isekai tensei omnibus and it is only one volume.

@dutenhnj Angelica's apparently a stronger knight than Traugott even at his graduation after several years of Bonifatius himself trying to beat him into better shape, so that's not saying much.

@Uraelius said in HFYatRA - Hannelore's Fall (Fan Fiction):

It was Ortwin's job to draw a sizable portion of the Korinthsdaum knight's order through the release of artificially enlarged feybeasts while visiting the border province overseen by his sister Adolphine.

Ortwin: "Hey sister, would you like to help me and my friend Wilfried majorly screw over Sigiswald?"
Adolphine: "Absolutely! When do we get started?"

LOL, that would have essentially been the outcome. My rough idea is that his sister's land was merely a convenient staging ground where he could claim to visit his dear sister and carry out the "attack" without her knowledge (to shield her from any adverse outcomes). After being tipped off by a loyal retainer, Adolphine stops Ortwin and scolds him for trying to stir up trouble with a higher ranking duchy (mistaking his actions as an attempt to get petty revenge for his sister). Ortwin confesses that he is attempting to aid Wilfred so that Hannelore doesn't suffer the same fate as Adolphine. Adolphine agrees to help, citing Sigiswald's spreading of malicious rumors of her as a convenient excuse for her involvement. After which, she scolds Ortwin for his poor choice of feybeast, tells him to use one that would demand more attention from Korinthsdaum's knight order, provides him with several full fist-sized feystones, and tells him to take extensive notes on the experiment's outcome and not be late for dinner.

@Aradethcis We can't comment on upcoming releases before they are announced, but please rest assured that part 3 has not been forgotten. Please look forward to reading more of Rozemyne's adventures in part 3 soon!

I created a thread for the detailed discussion of Traugott, since the discussion will involve a lot of Manga Spoilers.

@wanderer_1204 someone on the discord was there, nothing about it was mentioned. Hannelore being a new series understandably had more hype behind it, so they deviated from their normal behaviour a bit more than usual. I would expect SSC3 to start up relatively soon, but it might not.

One of the greatest achievements of Bookworm as a series is the way in which the plot advances as a consequence of the cumulative actions of the characters instead of being some fiat dictate of the author. If you examine each plot development, you can see how what the things various characters did, even minute ones, led up to that development. Case in point with Corinna, another thing she did was consent to Benno helping Myne when she entered the temple, because at the end of the day, the Gilberta Company is her store, not Benno's. She could have said that Myne wasn't worth the risk, but she believed enough in her brother, and cared enough for him and the memory of her own good friend Liz, to risk her store for Myne's sake.

This thread is quite old, but I noticed this on a re-read. At 49%:

“We need eyes on him at all times now that he has started to crawl. He tried crawling all the way over to me, so Lily had to hurriedly stop him. Has anything happened in the monastery?” I asked

It should probably be something like:

“We need eyes on him at all times now that he has started to crawl."
He tried crawling all the way over to me, so Lily had to hurriedly stop him.
"Has anything happened in the monastery?” I asked

@henshaw33 Cornelius and Lamprecht talk about it in Winter Debut and the Playroom:

“Eckhart is abnormal...? I had assumed that one would need feelings that strong to pick a master, so I’m glad you disagree. I’ll try thinking this over some more in an attempt to find my own reason to stay with Rozemyne,” Cornelius said as he turned, the unease having vanished from his expression.

In my eyes, Cornelius had made his decision the moment he started actively looking for reasons to continue serving Rozemyne. But I didn’t need to point that out to him.

Meanwhile, the Cornelius/Eckhart discussion I remember was from Royal Academy Stories, in the chapter As a Guard Knight and a Brother - in a scene set just before Cornelius teleported to the Academy in P4V1:

“This is just my own experience,” he said, “but the more loyally you try to serve your lord or lady in the Royal Academy, the more you’ll suffer. It also becomes much easier to slack, since you’re going to have classes and other excuses available to you. This will be a good opportunity to see just what kind of guard knight you wish to be. You can’t rely on your parents at the Academy, so your time there will force you to grow whether you want to or not.” He clenched one hand into a tight fist and extended it to me. “Good luck.”

I reached out and bumped my fist against his. Apparently, the Royal Academy was where guard knights sank or swam—and the intimidating light in Eckhart’s blue eyes very firmly urged me toward the latter.

“As her older brother, I will strive to be a worthy guard knight,” I declared, making a vow between knights.

J-Novel Club has downloadable DRM-free publications. This is the gold standard of e-publications, and you should always prefer this when possible. I ALWAYS check if J-novel club has a series before buying it elsewhere.
