Acquisitions Speculation - General

It looks like the Oregairu light novels are finally having a digital release on June 25th:
Which would also mean that Shogakukan is finally open for digital releases.
I can't see any preorders yet though. Although there are for the manga series, which is also getting a digital release a week earlier.
It's perhaps a bit too early to tell, but I hope it's correct. Have been waiting for them for quite a while.
-
can we update the title of this thread? I keep looking for a specific JNC release announcement based on the topic (I think the original 9 are old news now, yes? ) Maybe "new releases, announcements and speculations"
-
@jon-mitchell Thy wish is my command.
-
literally LOL

Ooh. Anything super notable that people want from them?
(Understand we shouldn't jump to conclusions as you said of course).

Not sure these count as notable, but I'd love to see Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu. and the Expelled from Paradise prequel novel get licensed. Sam pls.
-
@terrence I personally want Humanity has Declined.
Cop Craft (from FMP's author) is getting an anime. There are old finished series such as Shimoneta and GJ Club too.
(On a side note, I'd also be happy with Watari's Qualidea Code novels - which I'm clearly aware that it's not going to happen. But there are not enough Wataru Watari novels in English.)

Apparently they had false listings before, for Log Horizon. I (mostly) hope these are real, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
(I also kinda hope they don’t, just so I don’t have to figure out how to handle having half the series in print...)
-
All of those ones you've guys mentioned I would want. Especially Cop Craft.
That one about the Demon Lord marrying the mom of the hero I'd like. That and that one where the main character's best friend is the hero, "Is it tough being a 'friend'".
-
Sam has said multiple times he has been trying persistently to get Cop Craft, so I really hope that will work out. Maybe Shogakukan will want to see Sam successfully translate FMP and release those omnibuses first though, so they will know he is legit.

The Humanity Has Declined anime was dark-humored fun. I'm too lazy to add a license request thread but I'd upvote yours.
I really enjoyed the GJ Club anime too, but I don't normally read (more or less) ordinary stories set in modern Japan so I couldn't upvote that one.

You quoted a link to the suggestion topic, FYI.

D'OH! (slaps forehead)
I guessed (for no reason) that was a link to an outside description of the series and didn't click it. Instead I searched the suggestion subforum topic titles, but this topic only lists the Japanese version.
Oh well, upvoted it is. :)

You should search the stickied list of suggestion topics too.

Nah, they had glitched listings like previously physical-only series appearing on their Upcoming Digital release page, but if you click into the thumbnail, the book doesn't say it has a digital release. Also nothing on hachettebooks.
As for Log Horizon, they had the last two volumes on their upcoming digital release AND had entries on hachettebooks which gets added on months before it was taken down. The theory is that Yen Press had been planning a digital release for it but something fell through so they had to cancel the digital release.
-
@terrence I personally want The World God Only Knows
-
11 volumes of Oregairu@comic are listed on Amazon for digital release on June 18, all at once, a week before the LN listing, so I'm guessing japan's side really have changed their minds.
It looks like they plan to release a bunch of volumes of the LN on the 25th too.
Give me ImoSae as well!
-
I would have liked to have gotten A Sister is All You Need volumes digitally.
I think I only have two My Youth Romantic Comedy volumes sitting on the shelf, so that'll be easy to transition over for me if I do that.
-
Hmm, ImoSae seems to have digital releases on July 23, Tomozaki-kun too.
Although these don't even appear in Yen Press' website itself.Wait, ImoSae does. -
@crimson-wise Oh yesss. Also four volumes on the same day, looking at the related items, and the 5th on September.
