      @malloc said in Seirei gensouki:

@thomask the reason why you probably only found three on Amazon.jp is you might have searched for the name in romaji instead of their characters. When I did that I only found the three manga novels. Others pointed out my mistake back then. Romaji characters consist of A-Z where and their characters consists of their phoenetic characters of hiragana, katakana, and their symbolic characters of kanji.

Makes sense. Found them in the end.

I wrote a Wikipedia page on the subject. I didn't distinguish between "finished" series that were still being translated and series that still were being written. I did break out series that haven't had a new volume in over a year though.

It's not necessary, but you sure will miss a lot of good references. I really recommend you to read the main series up to vol. 7, then Arifureta Zero vol.1, then Arifureta vol. 8.

I would also love to see this! I am big fan of the Orphen series and hope to see rest translated into english. I do not know of any more Slayers vs Orphen novellas other then the one. But crossovers are unique, because of that lot of people tend to want to find these gems.

@rahul-balaggan Yeah that's the way it's published in Japan and that's the way the Japanese ebook is too.

Just use the bookmark feature on your reader.

@steelblaidd As a programmer if someone asked me to give them a "human sort" I would ask them for more information. "Just sort it as a human would", is way too ambiguous since there are literally millions of ways a human would sort it and everyone's "human sort" could be different.

Also please note that the only thing that is changing is the comparator (comparison method, routine, function, procedure, operation, whatever you want to call it because different programming languages call it different things) and the main sorting algorithm could and would most likely stay the same (bubble sort, quick sort, merge sort, etc.) However most non programmers wouldn't realize this so this point really is not that important so long as the programmer understands what the person requesting the change really wants.

Sort by series and volume number would be ideal, but if the publisher did not include that info in the metadata of the file then sorting by alphabetical title until you see a number would be a backup. Also remember that the more complex you make the comparison function the more time the sort will take. It won't be noticeable sorting 100 books but sorting thousands of books it will definitely be noticeable.

There is a debate over which is happier, the flower that blooms in the field or the caged bird.

      It is meaningless.

The flower and bird each have their own happiness.

I enjoyed the start of idol but after Maori died the pacing just was too hectic, it felt like a PowerPoint presentation of Mika's life journey. I wonder how much is self delusions in regards to getting alien fans and the. blowing up their planet.

@ernesto On JNC it is standard for there to be a 1 to 2 week gap in between volume translations.

If you are wondering why V2 is not in the release schedule that is because the cover data has not been processed, which is usually the last thing they do, so in 1 to 2 weeks on the day when P1 is ready for upload and the cover is processed they will drop it into the schedule same day

I found that the anime was really confusing back when it first released and that reading the light novel even with its differences to be really helpful in cleaning up some issues with understanding. I'd definitely recommend reading the light novel.

@guspaz said in [New Life+] novels removed from Amazon:

If you're desperate for more story, the translation of the web novel was resumed after JNC suspended the series. Of course, the web novel itself was put on hiatus in May, though it wasn't removed from Syosetu as the author originally planned.

Thanks for info! I'll look it up after I'm done with Gunota. That is a good one too (translation seems approximate though), and unlike Renya, protagonist actually has an interest for relationships and embraces his harem (or at least the #1 girl). Look it up.

Interesting. Maybe I'll grab Einherjar and stay up to date instead of waiting for a catch-up month. Hmm.

Elf Bride is about the only one I'm pretty sure I will like so that's gonna be first in my list. Have to check out Werewolf and Amagi ones to see if they actually appeal to me, but those two are only other titles from the new licenses that sound remotely interesting to me.
Thanks to J-Novel for all the hard work bringing in the new novels though.
