@smashman42 yeah the LN is significantly better, the anime has been very very rushed for all 4 episodes so far, I mean the actual date scene turned into demon fight scene literally zoomed by on the screen.
They also skipped over some pretty big foreshadowing developments from V1, and all those montage scenes like Satou going out to buy sundries after he reaches the inn and eats the keish, and the date montage all has a lot more details that don’t deserve to be skipped via montage.
-
@smashman42 it is, the anime rushes way too much stuff. I really like the LN so I'm disappointed with the treatment it's getting. The foreshadowing is one of the strong points in this series.

Oi, anyone read the Death March LNs? It's one of the series this season I don't mind too much & figure the original would be better, yeah?
I enjoy the Death March novels personally, but I know a lot of people hate them because they're more slice-of-life which is not generally what people look for in isekai. The anime is quite bad in comparison, it just leaves out so many details that make the series so interesting.

just binged Gunslinger Girls 1st season over the weeked (Netflix), pleasantly surprised. Covered some relatively mature themes (agency, limit of power of the state, corruption, what is love?)
and had some characters that I found charming. -
I picked up Love and Lies in between my watching of Himouto Umaru-chan. Up to episode 3.
I feel like this triangle is going to be heartbreaking no matter what. Personally, I want him to break the system... Though if the match between him and the twin tails gal (Yukari) was by accident, he could still break the system by falling for her...
-
@terrence That’s a fun one
-
Watching Deathmarch, Overlord, and Grimgar...wait this is the opposite of a surprise isn't it.
-
@paulnamida I've actually really enjoyed that the pace is quick.
-
I just burned threw the entire series of Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress on Sunday, and was showing the first few episodes to some friends tonight.
normally i hate shows like this, since i can't even watch attack on titan, but
this was just to amazing even if it is a zombie anime.recently,
Black Clover
A Place Farther than the Universe
Overlord
Maerchen Maedchen
Death March - not to impressed, not sure if i want to go to the novels or just skip this. -
I just started following CR again on Twitter because they have a contest for "Garden of Sinners" figures... Lots of spoilers all over the place as promotion.
I think I'm watching Inari Kon Kon this weekend in between my gaming.
Edit: I'm really liking this one so far. Certainly Shoujo feeling, but the protagonist is fun (though, she could probably do better for herself love interest wise). =]
I'm watching Inari Kon Kon's festival episode.
-
I watched Darling in the Franxx tonight. Visually, I thought I was watching Grimgar. With the long pink hair, Zero Two does resemble Yuno Gasai a little. Not quite as yandere though.

I'm watching Inari Kon Kon's festival episode.
I'm up to the 2nd part of the beach vacation trip in Inari Kon Kon...
This Ship is sailing on one side. Let's hope the other side doesn't sink it! xP
If you like anime with shipping, this seems to be a very good one. Plus, it's got the fun transformation magical girl thing to spice up the small town + shrine setting.
Edit: Done. Ahhh, that ending sucked. I think it was anime original. Apparently the manga continued to 2015, while the anime and OVA were 2014. I might have to figure out which volumes continue the story past the anime and get those on Bookwalker (they aren't available in English). T.T

@paul-nebeling hands down my favorite anime of the season, trigger always make some nice originals. I also like Kokoku and it has my personal favorite OP of the season. It’s so catchy. Reason why Devil Man Crybaby isn’t mentioned for me cuz it’s in a weird postion since it all came out at once but it was phenomenal good.
-
@hyferzftw Best part is that it's a two cour season. I was surprised to see who is voicing Zero Two.
-
@paul-nebeling yeah I know.
-
@terrence FYI, the anime for Inari Kon Kon adapted only a bit of the story, though it did seemed like it had plans to go further. I finished the anime and haven't finished the manga either, but I was really surprised to know the original manga was actually on the seinen side rather than shoujo.
Anyway, I'm a stressed working(?) adult. So maybe that's why I've been looking forward to Pop Team Epic and Darling in the Franxx most lately. I keep track of Death March, since I enjoy the novels too.
Other than those, I've been watching old episodes of Gundam Wing on Gundaminfo's YT channel. Watching it from the perspective of an adult surprisingly gives it some new appreciation.

I've been spoiling Darling by watching clips of it without actually watching the show proper. I think I need to stay offline for a bit to avoid the temptation, then do a catch-up.
I am watching Pop Team Epic... But I don't get "it" a lot of the time (even after someone explaining the references).
-
@terrence I've tried watching Pop Team Epic. I can see the appeal, but alas, the humor didn't catch my interest.
-
@paul-nebeling @Terrence I'd really like to give you guys some advice on how to enjoy Pop Team Epic, but alas, I have no idea too. Maybe I'm just needing a weekly dose of weirdness lately.

Like, I love Nichijou, though that did also have some romantic stuff in the background too between Gundere and Mio's Crush, and the two sensei, which may have made it easier to keep me going.
