Death‘s Daughter and the Ebony Blade (Manga)
-
I‘m quite suprised that no one has made a thread for this yet, so here I go~:

Description: Olivia is just a baby when the mysterious Z finds her at a temple in the depths of the Forest of No Return. From that day on, the temple becomes her home and Z her family. Z, a god of death, educates her in the ways of the world, in combat, and in the long-forgotten arts of magic—right up until the day Z disappears. Olivia leaves the forest for the first time in search of Z with its ebony blade in hand. Out in the wider world, all is not well. A bitter war rages between the Asvelt Empire and the Kingdom of Fernest, and Fernest is losing badly. When Olivia shows up on Fernest’s doorstep with a sack of imperial heads looking to volunteer, the royal army happily welcomes her into its ranks. Thanks to Z’s training, she quickly proves herself as a ferocious warrior. In fact, she might be just what Fernest needs to turn the tide of the war...but will they accept her lack of people skills and disregard for discipline? And will she ever see Z again? My Opinion: Long before I got to know and read the novel, I already read the manga (or skimmed the raws). I like it even more than the novel, the art style is so pretty and expressive. It would be awesome if J-Novel Club would license it now after the novel.
I don’t like buying manga in English, because they are really expensive (compared to German ones), so I would love to buy them as premium ebooks. Otherwise I won‘t have much of a choice and need to wait for the manga to get licensed in my country...
Anyway, I can recommend it for anyone who reads the novel, it‘s a really good adaption. -
Suggestion for JNC Heart
So Olivia is a shoujo protagonist. However, I believe her heart has already been taken by cake, so there are no chances for other romantic interests to win.
-
@Crimson-Wise Yes, but a love interest can provide her with MORE cake.
-
@Crimson-Wise well Ashton does make amazing sandwiches with mustard….

-
@Silver-Sugar-Duchess nevermind my previous post - you're specifically requesting the manga

I wonder why, but I think the manga is a lot better than the novel. I hope it get‘s licensed soon!
-
@GoldenMoonButterfly Sometimes that's the case. Oversummoned, Overpowered and Over It! is that way. It feels like the manga does a better job of showing the protagonist's indifference to those around him and makes his choices seem more in character. It also just does better at fleshing out those around him and building their relationships with him more.

I don‘t really like the novel, but the manga is interesting to read.
-
Was hoping this manga would have been announced at AX. Oh well maybe another time.

In case someone missed it, licensed by JNC.
