@the-green-death that's a shame about grimgar, but hey man you do you. I'm sure I like things you don't XD .
-
I have a love / hate relationship with Grimgar because of the reoccurring joke gags they do, and the pace (less so the broader pace, I don't mind that they're going to stay noobs for a while, moreso the pace of specific scenes and waste of time lines with Ranta + co).
-
@terrence that's exactly how I feel. Having op characters can get boring sometimes (depends on the plot tbh, and also if the author is skilled enough to pull it off). I love Grimgar because we see actual character progression in which it is totally possible and not just straight up a huge power creep.
-
@the-green-death I have to agree that Haruhiro was really annoying( in volume 4). I'd love to see more of the other characters thoughts. Like Ranta, sometimes I wonder what the hell he thinks. But it's still my favorite novel here :p
-
@imilyaz I think(I read the translation before JNC licensed Grimgar) volume 2 gave us a POV of Ranta and it made me hate him less, but I still find him extremely annoying. Specially on the volumes after 2.
-
@hyferzftw Ranta is really annoying sometimes. But then, he's the only one who's not serious all the time so I kinda like him

Yume? Nyan! 😺
-
@terrence omg haha how could I forget her. My memory is vague, but I remember a part where
It was both hilarious and confusing. (Don't know if it's even worth putting in a spoiler tag)On that note, why does some characters like to refer to themselves as third person? She isn't the first person I've seen doing that. At first I wondered if there was some deeper meaning behind it, linking it with that the only thing they rememberd about themselevs was their names when they arrived at Grimgar. But then I rememberd it happens from time to time. Like Kuro Usagi from Mondaiji-tachi
-
@imilyaz Character who speak in third person is usually used to show their childishness or arrogance. The ditz usually use it too.

Thank you! I was starting to think that I was the one that liked him  I just find him that lovable jerk. Plus, despite the way that he behaves he kinda is helpful and has worries like everyone else. The problem is that his jerkiness overshadows that

Fate. Destiny. Tacos?
Not actually a part of the nasu-verse
Nobody knew summoning could be so complicated
Ironically, it doesn't need a club
Finally a female protagonist!
-
Sam also said there are 2 new publishers involved on Discord, so that makes guessing a bit trickier. It might still be reasonable to assume Kadokawa (the big one with a controlling share in Yen Press) would still be out of reach for the moment, if just because assuming so allows a huge chunk of potential titles to be crossed out.

Probably Kara no Kyoukai and Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo Dorei Majutsu for 2 and 3. I don't follow the light novel scene quite enough to guess at the other 3 (not to mention 5 is way too broad a hint D:).
-
@hatguy12 duke's daughter for the 5th one? Seven sea has the manga now.

Fate Stay Night! Nah. =P
Maybe that assassin food mascot one, Death Need Round? Probly not though. But I want it!

Soundalike title? Bake-something or other? Something-Monogatari?

Hmmm
Ironically, it doesn't need a club
Fight something or other.
Finally a female protagonist!
I wonder if they'd simulpub that new Seven Seas announcement, Average Powers?, the one with the woman who becomes an idol or something. I hope it's something fresh though.

Does this mean most new info gets released to Discord instead of here? Seems Sam has been largely absent here for the past few months, little bummed I need to head to Discord to keep up.

Nasuverse (Nasu Kinoko) is Tsukihime/Fate/Mahoutsukai/etc. Bakemonogatari is NisiOisin. Although your thought is a good one, maybe it's a title like "Something/something" where people could confuse it for a Nasuverse story?

I think Sam has been absent to some degree everywhere for the past couple of weeks; I think he mentioned he had some travel and things outside of JNC on his plate recently that may be over now. Discord seems a little more conversational most of the time, so I think it's easier for random extra bits (like there being two new publishers) to come out there.
