I like stories of people who didn't deserve the hard life they had, and romance where it's two hurt and somewhat awkward people healing each other, so this looks right up my alley. Plus a hint of intrigue and danger, an assassination attempt here and there, mysterious acts of wild magic...
The novel is coming out right now too, so this read somewhat like a preview of that, the way manga of a novel often does.

Though I now have to wonder, is Flora a genius? Carolina's flashbacks suggest that her tutors were comparing her unfavourably to her older sister, yet the Empress is impressed by her ability to learn. Either the Sanchez family hired some very biased tutors, or Flora herself must be truly astonishing.
It might also be that Flora is the older sibling, and it's quite easy for people to take a look at two siblings and not adjust for age as much as necessary, or to see different temperaments and think that's how they'll always be...
