@Eternal-Wanderer while we aren't caught up, v2 did release in 2025 (January) so it's possible it wasn't licensed when the series was announced. JNC have been getting a lot of manga rather early in their JP life lately, so there's been a bunch with gaps between v1 and v2.

...I hope Rikimaru winds up knocking this guy out. Or out the side of the ship.

@Ingraman Not really. The LN covers the post war clean-up such as what happened to the two ladies he used to be partied with and what not. Otherwise it's the same ending.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking/trying to get at, that his “seniority” didn’t in fact mean “more experience making The Product” but instead meant he was experienced in “sucking up to/pushing work onto specific other coworkers” which just ain’t a transferable skill 🤷‍♀️
