Yes, that's the best way to handle it. Though it's possible that the mistake was caught before release.

I don't know in this case since I haven't purchased the book, but in general final corrections made right before publication don't get incorporated back into the prepubs, so there may be errors in the prepubs that aren't in the final product.

You have to love the duality of Amelia's intelligence:

On the one hand, as we're reminded of in this chapter, she's the top ranked student in the Special Course for the best of the brightest. It's also been previously stated that she had the best test scores of her year before becoming the only first year to enter the Special Course. On the other hand, "I used to wander alone in the sticks all the time, I'll be fine. Never mind that I was explicitly warned about potential foreign agents making a move during the event. What? You think I should be careful because I could be valuable either as Sarge's assistant or a hostage? I'll be fine".

In Japan, "[adjective] になあれ (ni naare)" (become [adjective]) is like a make-believe magic spell you use with kids. Often "genki ni naare" -> a spell to cheer them up when they feel down.

So we needed something a little fun and playful that also fit inside a manga bubble, and that kept the healing magic aspect to link it to Evelyn.

I'm all for some world-building, but pretty much nothing happened in the entire volume. That's kinda crazy.

This was pretty decent overall, but I have to say, the description is kinda misleading when it comes to the tone and content of this story.
