Note for all: The streaming dates were incorrect due to an internal mix-up and ended up running later than the ebook release date. To resolve this, the last two chapters have been made available now.
I like the one on one here. It dives deeper into Inori's mentality and helps explain the why of alot of what he's done in the series up until this point. It also circles back to the point of Inori feeling like Ariya was the same as he was.
I did like that it turned out his father took one look at Dias and said, "I'm out of here!".
Because that proves that this pose thing isn't complete BS. NOT.
I commented as much on the Discord, but the manga for Imperial Reincarnation really does make the story seem much more fluffy/easygoing than the Deep Dark Deadly Politics of the light novel.
@arghc As I recall, Owain and Glen were stated to be childhood friends, so they should be fairly similar in age.
If anything, I think the 'only 130' is in respect to their potential lifespans, not their actual ages - that is, that Owain was forgetting 130 is old age for a half-elf.
Other elves, meanwhile, we know nothing about. But you're right, there should be some of them that remember such things. Owain's parents, for a start, if either is still alive.
I’m surprised that Eve could subjugate Zarish and any time and just chose now to do it
Maybe I missed something but doesn't the Eve/Zarish timeline go like this?
Eve falls for Zarish, develops the primary skill "Engagement", gives its ring to Zarish.
Zarish removes, reverse-engineers, duplicates & modifies the ring into a "Master"+"Subordination" ring pair, and subordinates Eve.
Zarish subsequently subordinates many women - but can only subordinate up to 10 (or 8?) at once so he "recycles" them from time to time.
Eventually tiring of Eve, Zarish tries to "recycle" her and subordinate Marie instead.
He fails. Eve survives while also losing her subordination ring (thanks for Kazuhiro). Marie also doesn't get subordinated (thanks to Wridra).
Kazuhiro defeats Zarish and seizes all the remaining "Master" rings.
Eve returns to Zarish and enslaves him by giving him one of his own Subordination rings.
@xdbx@thubar2000@heimdal7@pcj Thank you for reporting errors. The first was caught independently and fixed in QA; the latter has now been fixed on the website and will be reflected in the final ebook.
I don’t know if it was a deliberate decision, but both the Greek text on page 6 of V4C4 (Αἰτεῖτε καὶ δοθήσεται ὑμῖν) and the accompanying ruby text in the Japanese version (求めよさらば与えられん) are taken from the first sentence of Matthew 7:7 (in the NIV “Ask and it will be given to you”), while the English given, “Seek, and you shall find” is the second sentence.
@Eternal-Wanderer while we aren't caught up, v2 did release in 2025 (January) so it's possible it wasn't licensed when the series was announced. JNC have been getting a lot of manga rather early in their JP life lately, so there's been a bunch with gaps between v1 and v2.
@Ingraman@b-scot-morgan Thank you for reading and leaving your suggestions. The latter error was caught independently and fixed in QA; the former is a part of the lizardman's speech style.
Allow me to declare open season upon the mangaka.
The ending of this volume was...very well drawn.
Gotta give it that.
But as the end of a volume?
Excuse me?!
