most of his skillset is actually seniority. He knows his old company, who to suck up to, where various levers are, and there may be advantages baked in the rules making it harder to remove old employees without cause, that sort of things. None of which would apply to a new environment. He may have a few people skills, sort of, if you're into that sort of things (I guess being a sleazy manager is a skill), but enough to take a chance on the rest of the package?
Yeah that’s what I was thinking/trying to get at, that his “seniority” didn’t in fact mean “more experience making The Product” but instead meant he was experienced in “sucking up to/pushing work onto specific other coworkers” which just ain’t a transferable skill 🤷♀️
This felt better than the LN, maybe not by alot, but it definitely has less of the domestic abuse that left such a sour taste in mouths last time. That said, if they had just acted like the adults they are and communicated, they still could've avoided all of this.
Aw, but words are hard and spending weeks stewing in unfounded jealousy is easy!
But yes, Ed and Carolina finally discussing their feelings was a big improvement on the assault-induced-epiphany the LN used in this scene.
It was so saccharine, but considering DV was the alternative I'm not complaining.
While I followed the series in stream, it sure feels different when you can read the manga from start to finish in one go.
I recommend to everyone always make use of the opportunitiy while it is still on stream. The release version has cute separators between the chapters. ^.^
If you have been missing this title like I have, then good news - V7 of the LN was released on August 19, 2025 in Japan, see here or here.
That's 9 months since V6 was released, so the author seems to be slowing down a bit from the two-books-per-year release cycle of the first six volumes.
