Saw a story a few years ago about a guy who automated most his job only for his company to fire him and try and force him to give them the scripts saying it was their property. Basically he laid himself off.

90% of the time they'd be absolutely right in that situation. If he wrote the scripts specifically for assisting with the job they were paying him to do then the code is definitely their property unless he had a contract ahead of time saying he could keep ownership of it.

The point is the guy in the manga will end up getting a good job only to make himself redundant and get laid off with the way it is going.

The MC was smart though in that she made the automated system required her being there so couldn't be fired. That was till a idiot took over the company.

Maybe someone can introduce Ellen to the Dunkelfelger way of woman making the advance on a guy... I'm sure as an adventurer Ellen would be able to do it. Though maybe as some things progress and Linus frees himself from the past related to that as well he might start looking...

As for Olof... probably drunk since the festival. Since he made that comment in a large gathering where both subjects of his comment could have overheard, nor just Alec with them there but Shiori could have overheard it too. That goes well beyond even the type of talk you'd have with your mates.

Yes, that's the best way to handle it. Though it's possible that the mistake was caught before release.

I don't know in this case since I haven't purchased the book, but in general final corrections made right before publication don't get incorporated back into the prepubs, so there may be errors in the prepubs that aren't in the final product.

But is an all-knowing book a weapon if there's more than one copy? If everyone has access to the knowledge then one person can't withhold cures from those in need.

You have to love the duality of Amelia's intelligence:

On the one hand, as we're reminded of in this chapter, she's the top ranked student in the Special Course for the best of the brightest. It's also been previously stated that she had the best test scores of her year before becoming the only first year to enter the Special Course. On the other hand, "I used to wander alone in the sticks all the time, I'll be fine. Never mind that I was explicitly warned about potential foreign agents making a move during the event. What? You think I should be careful because I could be valuable either as Sarge's assistant or a hostage? I'll be fine".
