This manga's facial expressions are always just priceless.

v6c4pg14p2: “You’re wearing a rose on your lapel?” Panel 5: That’s not my definition of a lapel, but I’m not too aware of fashion definitions. The rose looks flat enough that I thought that it was printed on her shirt/top/blouse, but it’s not there on the next pages, so printing is out (unless the artist is just forgetful).

v5c6pg30p4: That’s not an airplane that I’d want to fly on. I don’t think that I’m tall enough to reach the overhead bins. It almost looks like a wide train, rather than an airplane; the windows are too big, and the walls too slab-like. Are we seeing business class? I can’t think of any economy seating in a 4-engine wide body that’s 2-3-2. I’m too lazy to look up the A340. I think that 747 economy seating was often ten seats across. A380 upper deck? B767 seating might be 2-3-2 (might not), but that’s a twin.

That’s enough semi-educated nitpicking from me. :p

Edit: Yeah, from panels on the following pages, those are probably supposed to be business-class seats. The windows are still too big, though. ;)

Once again, poor Zack. Brother-zoned himself when he failed to be there and notice what was going on. Manga really hits it home that Shiori could have easily ended up with Zack. Sorry to Clemens who was never even in the running.

I call shenanigans. I expect Shiori fell asleep sitting at the side of the bed and Alec or Rurii helped her into it.

Still nice to see Alec mention that Shiori has a bad habit if dismissing what she does. She probably singlehandedly prevented large casualties by assessing the situation and freeing the snow wolf mates.

And now all power to the Akane! I like the modified cheongsam dress combined with the tonfa. Hopefully the plot continues with Akane next time.

It appears that Parker's fear is losing touch with his humanity.
Of feeling nothing.
If he feels nothing, what constraints will he have upon his actions?
None.
So he's chosen to seek to fill the nothingness with humor and joy and fellowship.
Bad jokes, roasting his juniors, inappropriately timed jests, these are his means of building solid relationships to keep him from succumbing to emptiness.
"Such an irritating older brother" is the greatest praise he can hope for.
Well, he wouldn't mind if it were "Such an irritating yet reliable older brother".

Mao really wishes Veight would stop throwing his negotiation space in disorder by introducing himself at the drop of a hat.
There are various ways to put those you are negotiating with off their stride, and striking terror in their hearts isn't a good one; it's a bit more than just off their stride, you see. They start flailing around unpredictably.
Unpredictability is bad.

Of course the City Guard will look like a bunch of ruffians!
And the biggest, boldest, most bad-ass of them all will be in charge.
Or at least that's the appearance he'll project.

The mangaka continues to impress.
Many have commented that they initially find the art style off-putting, but that it grows upon you.
After a while, you can't imagine what could be better for this story.

I especially enjoy the use of shadow, the contrast of light and dark.
And how well the various settings reflect various cultures from Earth, the cohesiveness of the various settings.
Nothing jars, it all feels right.

And how expressive everyone is while at the same time seeming like a rapid sketch made on the fly by someone who was there, capturing what they saw as they saw it.

You know, there are some pretty eerie parallels with a certain, real life event. From a military perspective at least. And that's all I'll say about that.

The protagonist of Vinland Saga directly kills plenty of people, including a number of innocents (and works alongside those who enact violence upon many more non-combatants) across many a volume, but Thorfinn has a interesting story built around him from early on that kept me reading. He’s also just a foot soldier (albeit a very good one tasked with the occasional targeted assassination in battle), and not a commander.

Lioncourt hasn’t hooked me, yet.

The Institution that had been observing ΑΩ are now coming to realize that he doesn't need to have seen them to exercise his ability.
But he also seems to have become socialized well enough to talk to them about stuff if not forced to use his ability.

The Organization that snatched Asaka is rapidly coming to that same realization [that whether he has seen you or not is irrelevant] …and dealing with it somewhat less well.
Since they hadn't bought into the 'socialization' method of threat mitigation to begin with, and thought they'd assembled a team that could take him down...having their kill squad die with ΑΩ never having laid eyes upon them kinda makes them panic.
Whether any of them will survive to inform their higher ups of what's gone down will depend upon their attitude; if they can't grasp "live and let live" but rather continue trying to take him down none of the folks giving orders will survive to report to anyone else.

It's sad.
All they need do is release Asaka, whom they've already determined didn't have the information they sought.
Do that, unharmed, and she and ΑΩ will go their way and not disturb anyone.

Of course, that's the whole thing.
Folks messing with other folks because they can coming up against someone who they can't mess with and only becoming aware of that after the fact.
If they weren't arrogant, thinking they could bend the world to their will, they'd have gotten along fine.

To paraphrase Robert A. Heinlein, "A ΑΩ society is a polite society."

Is it now time to eliminate Dr. Tenma’s parents and his happy-go-lucky life? After all, they were given as the reason why he’s not leaving town, in the last chapter. He’ll have a reason to look into who was directing the soldiers, etc….

Maybe the zomblins were hired to eliminate the village so that there’s no one to object to the planned superhighway across the land, or maybe some noble wants to turn the village into a big open-pit mine. Maybe someone wanted the soldiers gone, and the village will just be collateral damage.

I barely care so far, unfortunately. :(

I loved how mama dragon offered her spouse’s head in compensation for damages. Sure, it may grow back(?!), but what does he do in the meantime? ^o^

Eve was a wonderful “big sister”, and she’s adorable while sleeping on the couch. It’ll be interesting as we get more of her backstory, given the glimpse of it that we were shown.

Innkeeper’s dad is next, I guess.

Well, you were correct; that's effectively what happened.
It's just not how it would be phrased by the skill.

It was a most satisfying use of his immunity to Charm effects.
Really nice.
And he got a couple of nice lines in as a result, when he clued her in that he wasn't actually Charmed.
