At the same time the system hands you a NodeBB forum token but after that point they are managed separately, both on client and server side (forum's and the main site's backends are pretty independent). @terabyte NodeBBS is a very new forum software and designed to be modular so a lot of things are "plugins". Even stuff like the write API and session support.

iBooks has been doing screwy things with our uploads and telling us everything is fine and then silently rejecting it without telling us for a few of our books... It's very odd.
