Top 10 novel licences you wish to see in 2019

@hakogami
If it's out, you don't have to do it, after all lol -

People who mention less than 10 titles, makes me look like some greedy person...lol
Not at all -- I want 100 new series to read, I just don't know what titles to ask for :-)
When I see I have to wait 4+ months for next volumes from other publishers I really appreciate how JNC works through a series so fast. I might read 4-5 LNs a week if I had a better supply of ones I knew I wanted.

Tbh, I don't care about this part since I can't keep up (financially)...
Had to favor Monogatari over many series due to that. -
I only mentioned 8 cause those were the 8 I absolutely needed and could place above all the other stuff on my list. I'm greedy as fuck as my actual LN wishlist is actually approaching 500.
-
@aruseus493
Hmmm
Maybe, I should try using myanimelist like that and see how much I got (I know that one of novel wishlists reached 400+...hahaha).
.
.
.
But it looks like a drag--adding a few hundreds to the list, plus I won't add non-LN titles I want.... -
@aruseus493
Maybe, I should make a thread for MonRabu lol -
So rather than a list of 10 individual titles, I'm going to put a list of 10 general categories of titles that I'd like to see licenses from. Am I cheating? Maybe. Do I care? Nah.
-
Novels about family. Childraising novels are a clear example, with plenty of titles like this one about getting a dragon bride and daughters, among others. That said I'd rather things not go down the Bunny Drop route, if you know what I mean...
-
Any Alphapolis novel. As pretty much the only major LN publisher to not have anything licensed in English, I definitely want to see some publisher finally make inroads with them. If I had to choose a title, I've enjoyed what I've seen of the manga for From Maid to Mother, which also fits nicely with the above category, but really, even if it's not a title I'm particularly in, any Alphapolis license would be great news for the LN localization industry in general.
-
Fluffy slice-of-life: My favorite genre so of course I want more of this. Romance is a nice bonus. Isekai is optional. For a specific title I'll just give Heartwarming Dungeon Life With Monster Girls just because it's one I started the rec thread for but there's so many potentially good stuff to choose from here that I'd be glad for anything.
-
Stuff I liked the anime for. Yeah I'm just going to group all of these together, though that's in part because from what I've noticed, stuff that got an anime adaptation some years ago tend to not sell very well as LNs now, so I understand they're more of a risk/charity license. Anyway, plenty of stuff I could put here but once again I'll just go with the one I started a rec thread for, When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace.
-
VRMMO titles. These are fun and there needs to be more of them. The obvious highlight title here is "Shield Heroine", since that one has an anime adaptation coming, though there's certainly no shortage of these either.
-
Good isekai: ...I'm cheating on this one harder than an isekai protagonist :P Still, I've been a fan of other-world stories long before I was a light novel fan so I am always on the lookout for good isekai stories, whether they be unique takes or more standard fare executed well. I'll use Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear as my example here.
-
Modern life romcom/drama: Basically, stuff that takes place in the modern world, not in a fantasy world, and not sci-fi. Some fantastical elements are fine, like in Kokoro Connect or, for an unlicensed title, Seishun Buta Yarou. Though I'd also like to see stuff that's just straight up non-fantastical, like The Pet Girl of Sakurasou or And you never thought there's a girl online?
-
Good romance: Yeah, another pretty big blanket one. Really, though, it's to highlight my latest rec thread, Unnamed Memory.
-
Non-LN novels. Sure, why not. The only confident example I can give here is Hyouka; anything else would be blind interest.
-
Stuff I'm not interested in but other people are. Because as far as I'm concerned, right now the types of novels I'm interested in aligns pretty well with what tends to get licensed; that said, I like variety and making sure everyone has something that interests them, so yeah, I'd like to see more stuff that I'm not interested in... as long as others are.

@_08 Only 3 more backlog volumes left!
-
Hm, guess I'll hold off anything too obscure and will only mention the more or less sensible and popular stuff that I hope at least have a shot yet. So no impossible dreams like Disco Detective Wednesday, Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon or Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu and I'll probably just mostly echo what people has already mentioned lol

PS: I actually also had KimiSei in my initial list so kudos to YP for starting the 2019 on a strong note. I really hope it will set the tone and this year will be much better than the last announcement-wise.
PPS: would also be really nice to actually see the continuations of the stuff like Zaregoto, Boogiepop, SukaSuka... -
Let's see. The two I really want are,
Seishun Buta Yarou series - need more Mai-san in my life.- Akashic Records of the Bastard Magic Instructor - enjoyed it quite a bit and want to know what happens after the anime.
Other than that, there are few others that I'd really like to have,
- Humanity has Declined - but it's Shogakukan so likely no digital :(
- Gamers - love rom-coms.
- OreShura - ditto.
Altina the Sword Princess - I actually don't know much about this one, but since it's from How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord's author without what I dislike from it, I should enjoy it.Ascendance of a Bookworm - even if not much so far, the manga has been good.Chivalry of a Failed Knight - finally managed to watch the anime. It was trash as heck, but I want it.
... and don't have enough for the 10 entries. I'm good with having surprises either way.

There are some great suggestions in this thread.
What I'd love to see licensed are:
-Highschool DxD (my favourite harem LN, but I'm well aware that it's very unlikely because of how many vlumes are already out and the popularity of the fan translation);
-Slash Dog, previous work from the same author of DxD;
-The testament of sister new devil;
-Shinichi no campioness, I just finished reading Campione! and I'd love for the sequel/spin off to have an official translation;
-Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta?, anime was fun, I'd love to see how the story goes on;
-Seishun Buta Yarou, you can never have enough of Mai and Sakuta;
-Chivalry of a Failed Knight, loved the anime, loved the manga, I need to see how it will end;
-Magika no Kenshi to Shoukan Maou, but with no anime and a fan translation that covers all the series, very unlikely;
-Demon fist of Daydreamer, I'm reading the manga but some content are toned down from the original novel, I'd love to read it;
-Boku no Kanojo Sensei, I actually don't know very much about this series but looks like an ecchi with a onee-san sensei as the main heroine...definitely enough to pick my interest. -

All but 7,8, and 9 (4 if the anime is old)
(if I mention 6, that's just me being bitter since I don't really think majority of isekai what we are getting lately is what I could call "good" but different strokes for different folks...I guess) -

Disco Detective Wednesday
I'll show you the best to way to get this one licensed
All jokes aside, hopefully, Tomihiko Morimi sells enough for YP to consider licensing more of him, especially Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei.
-
Some of these titles are stuff I haven't heard before and doesn't have a thread like Boku no Kanojo Sensei.
I think trying to promote it a bit on the suggestion section won't hurt~ -

I feel like only the last one has realistic chances of success. If we, say, sell a house or something.

SukaSuka...
Isn’t that still coming out at a normal 3-4 month pace?
