I haven't gotten a chance to read the manga, but I absolutely love the anime. My favorite characters are Kaname and Zero, because the're supper hot. ;D

In terms of the industry I don't think it has a major impact. Assuming these overstock sellers are acquiring their stock legitimately, then the publishers have likely already factored them into their contracts with bookstores.

@Meimi said in Which one of the two manga adaptions of 'Kusuriya no Hitorigoto' do you like more?:

both manga following the Light Novel right? both artwork are lovely but are they taking different perspective?

Yes, both manga appear to follow the light novel. They don't exactly take different perspectives, but they each adapt the material a little differently. Notably, the second version covers the ground more quickly, and it does this with some clever choices about when to conflate into a single scene moments that occur separately in the other versions. (For example, explanations or deductions that Maomao spells out after a case concludes in the other versions sometimes occur as internal monologue in the midst of events in the second manga.)

I think both manga versions are lovely, and appreciate that they look so distinct. I'm especially intrigued by the slender, almost lanky appearance of the characters in the second version, which in my mind almost looks more "realistic," if that makes sense.

In case anyone was interested but not aware, Square Enix is currently publishing the first of the two manga versions in English under the title The Apothecary Diaries. And of course, the LN is available right here on J-Novel... ;-)

Why are some manga suddenly getting "REBOOTED"? Are they to... "GOOD"? Or are they not "GOOD ENOUGH"?

Idk, but honestly im still thinking about "by the grace of the gods". As a story its fine but how can a novel end like that? Every volume ends like commercial brake. I feel author saying "5 min break guys, i'll be back" and keeps in next volume never didnt end of the previous book.

Its a reboot, you might think they would do something about it but nah, its just free money. At least i got that kind a vibe.

@Serah said in Slime Sale 13.01.2020 (tip):

Idk did you buy the LNs or not but i started reading book 2 and it seems writing is not that good. I dont know is it because of translation(translator) or author himself but for the first time i said "anime made a better job for conversations, story telling, cutting scenes" etc.

@Liber-Monstrorum How did I get into reading BL manga? Pull up a chair - this will take a while to answer. ;-)

Seriously, I'm much older than most people on this site, so I actually began with reading slash fan fiction when I was younger. Slash (named for the slash in K/S, or Kirk/Spock Star Trek fan fiction) was the precursor to m/m romance in the U.S. After being a slash fan, and before I started reading and writing m/m romance, I got into yaoi and BL anime/manga when I became an anime fan in 2005.

I agree with you that BL manga is best when there's a strong story and beautiful art, especially if the character designs are beautiful. I think the strongest story I've ever read in BL manga is Shungiku Nakamura's Hybrid Child. It's moving and haunting - very powerful.

I buy raws of dark action series that have no hope of being TLed (death game stuff and horror; usually search through the horror section for free volume 1s and then buy more to get all the panels if I'm really interested to see who lives / falls in love / etc).

I also buy Japanese LN 1) to MTL through if I must, 2) for support of the author + more series like it, or 3) for learning (haven't really started that in any full force though).

The only "raws" I get of licensed stuff is free ones on Bookwalker, again, for potential Japanese learning.

@Clarabelle Amazon Japan is the current "main source". The past main source has been eBay auctions. There is another topic here that discusses where to buy:

      Going with these two:

Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka

Kekkon ga zentei no love come

      Just gotta pick my manga.

Probably balance out the love comedy with some horror manga or Isekai adaptations.
