@Ingraman Doubly strange that that topic seems to be invisible to me, except with a direct link. Searching for it did not find it.

Maybe now that I've tagged it, the system will let me see it? I'll find out... Thanks!

Thanks for the update. After your post, I went to my JNC library page, but there was no mention of an update there (just two new books that I’d already downloaded). I downloaded volume four once again, and it was the updated version 1.1.

Thanks for reaching out! Yes, your library page should only show you updated LNs. We may consider adding this functionality for manga at a later date.

I would appreciate JNC adding manga update notices, or at least some sort of latest-version information for any books being added somewhere on the JNC website for people to compare their downloaded version number against. Maybe on the library page, or on the series pages alongside the information for each volume (for those not buying directly from JNC, or are Kindle/Nook/BookWalker users notified when books they’ve purchased get updates?)

      Thank you!

@Philip-Reuben since there are no corrections threads for manga:

Page 13: In the 3rd panel Miyoshi says We should hurry to the 11th floor but the 5th panel says 10th floor. I think that should be 11th floor both times.

Indeed, you're correct - it's been changed to be "11th floor" in both instances. Thank you!

@TheWickerMan Yeah, part 6 and part 7 of the current volume are both showing the same chapter. It's 6 that's wrong, this week's part got released there early by mistake and has now been released again.

I know they probably didn't want to just write Japanese, but those agricultural figures ended up looking more like a wiring diagram than any kind of writing...

Come to think of it, if the thought of compiling agricultural figures is so important to her that she can't recognise a guy she grew up with, I can kinda see why Reese might want to marry someone else. (Near-instantly forgetting what someone looks like because you don't love them anymore isn't really how human brains usually work., whatever Amelia's thoughts on the subject..)

Don't get me wrong, he's still a giant arsehole (there are right and wrong ways to do things, and slander tends to come under wrong way). I just mean I can see why he might not have been happy with the thought of a lifetime married to Amelia.

Lady Emilla has one of those hairstyles that just screams I'm too important to leave any hairgel for the lesser noblewomen!, with an undercurrent of High Nobility doesn't need peripheral vision! Obstacles should be avoiding me!

Also, you'd think someone with a pending engagement to royalty would know some of the etiquette around interacting with them...

Amelia, finally catching up with the audience: Oh, the man who has been cheating on me was lying about why he wasn't spending time with me!

Wait, Marius really sliced his brother in half (or maybe in 1/3 and 2/3) and killed him?
That was really unexpected. No forgiving or "stoop so low" argument like in most other series.
I guess given that he killed the father and the eldest brother, he deserved it. But since this wasn't something we directly witnessed, it doesn't feel real.

Well no complaints though. I like when a series doesn't hesitate in killing the bad guys.

I'm enjoying this manga as a companion to the anime. In a way it explains more about the story line than the anime did.

@schuburner I was about to say that many pages on ch 1 and 2 didn't load on Android app. But after switching the image quality to "High" (instead of Auto), the pages finally load. Not sure if this is worth addressing or not.

Also, I noticed that the tracker doesn't work (read chapters aren't highlighted in green). But after reading on the website on Android, the chapters were finally highlighted in green.

@Shaun-C interesting, I checked the Japanese version and he was pretty much being casual from the get go. That was unexpected.

In that case, that's fine then. It's kinda weird that he didn't use the correct grammar despite being genius and very literate in that world. But if the intent is to show casual speech, I guess it's workable.

What I like about this series is how, despite a lot of moments when the characters are cute, there's nobody who's just cute; they're interesting and varied characters, who at times act cute. It doesn't prevent them from being smart, badass or dangerous when needed.

A lot happened in this volume. We meet the elves, who are interesting both as a take on elves as a species and as individuals; see who is at the center of the monster outbreak near Turnera; we see how the story of Charlotte and Byaku progressed after the siege of Bordeaux; there's a delightful little vignette as Ange and friends visit Maria; honestly, the volume is packed. And despite not having a dull moment, it still manages to have great quiet and introspective scenes, too.

The finale of the story didn't disappoint!

What did, though, was the art. Not that it was worse - but there was a lot of scenes of multiple machines fighting and often, the impression was "yes, very nicely done, but what am I even looking at?" Telling friend from foe, and who's doing what to whom, was often hard; and for all that I loved how not-human-like the machines tended to be, it did get in the way of easily reading the action.

With that being said, I still loved the final volume, and the story as a whole.

I bet Yuto feels pretty conflicted knowing there's an easier way than he used to get the skill.

Yuto doesn't feel conflicted much, outside of which of his tamed monsters he'll acquiesce to this time.
He'll be astounded at the wondrous new knowledge gained by his fellows.
It might expand his repertoire of "weird things to attempt"...
