@jjyoung Yea unfortunately the 8th of the month is the cutoff date for that month's expirations. Books that release on the 9th of the month and beyond usually expire the next month :/
Keep in mind that JNC is in the midst of trying to set up a new round of audiobooks with two different new partners; so a fair number of internal resources are going to that. Might delay new print announcements while they are working on developing that
@Windsagio I see. That's one way to look at it, yes.
Maybe it was just the shock.
Sometimes, a book is better when I read it another time; I'll give reading it another try in a couple of months :)
@HarmlessDave My main complaints were that it felt rushed and that they cut out too much material from the LN. That made Touya seem pretty shallow. They really needed two seasons to introduce all 9 of the girls and get past the prologue material.
As Kotenmaru says, this series very much believes that its characters should earn their happy endings... but it's perfectly willing to give them a happy ending they've earned. There is one other wrinkle, but every single thing that could've been a diabolus ex machina (aka evil thing popping out of left field) thus far has been telegraphed in advance.
@pcj I think one of the reasons I find her hard to understand is that she's a "battle junky." I'll fight if I have too, but I have NEVER found it enjoyable, unlike Fran who loves to fight. I just don't understand people who get a thrill from it, I just feel sick, angry, and cold inside. Sparing is fun but a real fight? I hate it.
@Lokison The real answer to that question is "we don't know." The author stated in the afterword for Volume 2 that there was a Volume 3 coming. But it's been 3 or so years since then and it hasn't yet. And the pandemic happened right after volume 2 came out in Japan. So pretty much anything could have happened to the author in the mean time.
@Folker46 I stopped reading it because I wanted to start with the protagonist the story started with. I came back to it later because I enjoyed the beginning so much but I skipped a few books as there were low original protagonist interest in it. Then I started picking up what was going on with Shun et al and went back and picked them up after all. I like the new version of Kumoko and after the various plot lines with Shun and friends settle out and the stories are all caught up to the same timeline it's interesting again, but it did get confusing in the middle. Personally though my favorite arc of the book was the first one.
@Tahu we had to make some team adjustments for the series and when you are 21 volumes in that can take some time to get people caught up...
I'm guessing that means the new people have to actually read the existing 21 volumes so they're familiar with the content and can be consistent with it... yeah, that would take a while.
@Qeeh It's our first audiobook, and things are still so new to us that we don't have a process in place yet. As such, no schedule for the next volume yet. We'll keep everyone informed as soon we have more info available to share!
Campfire cooking in another world. It's funny and full of adventure without harem but lots of fun, just a guy going on adventurers with his familiars, exploring new places, meeting funny characters. And come Wednesday there's a new volume.
