@piisfun Would have slipped (again) way earlier if it was going to, since physical books have to be shipped to bookstores and distributors well before the release date.

I will also like volume 7 as well as 14 and 17 in print but I may have to hope for a reprint like what Haruhi Suzumiya got instead of searching for those volumes on sale. I'm sending out my wishes that Yen Press will continue to translate the series and therefore make previous volumes more available.

Apparently Yen Press found out that I was going to have a busy April 19 (6 different kindle titles releasing that day), so they moved some of them.

Must be getting hard to get ebooks imported in a timely manner.

I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, so I react to a lot of different things. Unfortunately manufacturers and retailers usually do not disclose the name of the specific inks and papers used, or their ingredients, so I couldn't tell you what specifically I react to. Some are ok for me and others aren't. The ones J-Novel Club used on their physical releases are not ok for me, so I stick to the ebook releases.

Volume 6 was published February 2 2022 in Japan so that's a month ago.

JNC do not normally comment on licensing negotiations or expected release dates so the first you would hear about it would probably when the first part of the new volume is released.

JNC has never dropped a series which is ongoing in Japan but there are sometimes delays as they negotiate licenses, wait for assets from Japan, and secure the availability of the translator/editor etc.

I believe that author has written in the afterword about how huge chunks of the story were rewritten from the WN, such as the section with the ice dragon in the Mystic Mountains. Therefore, it could be that the end is significantly different from what it is in the WN

Let me help you out here. Everything after the Araba fight is different. Like, alternate universe/different timeline different. You get the same major plot points but that's about it. They're basically different stories and should both be read.

Ok, I will be honest and upfront, I DON'T like Rudy. He's still just a selfish perverted old man in the body of a young man, that the women in his life put up with his nonsense can only be explained one way, they want his power for their children. Sylphiette is a doormat, Roxy is impressed by his power and has confidence issues, and Eris is just stupid.
I think what really ruined him for me was when he just stood there and watched as a young beastgirl was raped and beaten to death in from of him. He was not helpless or powerless, he just decided her life wasn't worth his time. Compare that to how Ruijerd and Eris react when a child is in danger, they burst into violent action. His attitude towards slavery also pisses me off but that's another topic.
If the other people in the LN weren't interesting (Eris and Roxy), I wouldn't read it at all.

It's almost certainly never getting another volume.
But I also don't think it ended in a particularly bad place. There was a good climax, and a very fundamental part of the backstory was made pretty clear as well. The overall plot was obviously not concluded but it wasn't like there was a massive cliffhanger.

@georgemto I guess good books and good business sense don’t always go together.

Somewhere between nil and none honestly. I don't recall seeing any actual sales data, but I believe I remember Sam mentioning that it was a title that they expected to do better than it did.

Which doesn't mean they lost money on it mind you, but it doesn't encourage funding a physical release.

I looked at the changes in volume 1 to 3 and the second link.
Have yet to look at all of the changes. Need to be careful, since accepting any small Censorship might be a snowball rolling down a hill. <--- Paraphrasing.

Will be looking in the link Lily Garden linked me, and look at the other changes when I can, and then either just buy the kindle version that had their Censorship fixed. While Buying volume 10 and physical possibly.

@weasalopes True, a rushed job is a poor job, measure twice, cut once. It is fun to speculate where the author can or will go next. I did find Demon Lord to be a little sad, as far as a story goes. I felt sorry for Shera, she loves Diablo and Rem but being an Elf, she will see them grow old and die while she remains relatively young (thus I reject the idea she's only 16 in Elf years, by human standards she's still a baby, would make more sense if she was 60 and just got tired of the forest and her brother's abuse). I did find it enlightening when Silvie admitted that while Grasswalkers stay young looking all their lives they are still aging on the inside.
But where can the author go next? Diablo has defeated anyone who was a threat, and the author could have just had a happy ending where Diablo starts a family with Shera and Rem, Horn and Lumachina come later, but no. He sends him and Kleb to another world? I hope this means he has some good story ideas for Diablo.

You don't just give up on what is far and away the largest market if you wanna make much money.
As to the other adult content, I'm sure it's how they have them categorized. Amazon specifically seems to treat LN's under YA fiction rules, rightly or wrongly.

I expect this is so. After all, there are plenty of smut writers on amazon.
