@Lokison The real answer to that question is "we don't know." The author stated in the afterword for Volume 2 that there was a Volume 3 coming. But it's been 3 or so years since then and it hasn't yet. And the pandemic happened right after volume 2 came out in Japan. So pretty much anything could have happened to the author in the mean time.

@Folker46 I stopped reading it because I wanted to start with the protagonist the story started with. I came back to it later because I enjoyed the beginning so much but I skipped a few books as there were low original protagonist interest in it. Then I started picking up what was going on with Shun et al and went back and picked them up after all. I like the new version of Kumoko and after the various plot lines with Shun and friends settle out and the stories are all caught up to the same timeline it's interesting again, but it did get confusing in the middle. Personally though my favorite arc of the book was the first one.

Campfire cooking in another world. It's funny and full of adventure without harem but lots of fun, just a guy going on adventurers with his familiars, exploring new places, meeting funny characters. And come Wednesday there's a new volume.

So, for those who are curious, I found the light novel name by looking in my historic navigation and there is an adaption in manga under the name "Oni no Hanayome" (noicomi鬼の花嫁). There is no translation for the novel nor the manga. The novel name is "鬼の花嫁～運命の出逢い～". But it has been deleted from syosetu.

Most folks more or less sum it up about the same here. Barring wiki related work (For those banished to that eternal payless job), reading or collecting such pieces are usually not that important. Unless said person is a super fan of this batch of general filler.

While it's generally optional filler, it's a pain in the ass if plot relevant points are in these.

Fluff pieces are fine though. The wrong fluff in the middle of a main volume can get jarring. Like walking in on a parent sleeping with their ch-shot

I like this story, but it's another Alphapolis title so it's never going to get licensed. The manga is also being officially released (if you can call it that) through their alphamanga app.

The only thing "final" about vol.4 is that it's the latest volume published, and we don't know if vol.5 will ever be published.

Vol.4 of the LN covers the entirety of war 4 and the first half of war 5. The published book literally ends in the middle of an arc.

If the light novel ever gets a volume 5, that will be the actual end of the story.
Good English sales gave us vol.4 so I'm still holding out hope that Kodansha will publish the final book so that JNC can license it.
