@shipteaser Thank you for the information. Gonna jeep my fingers crossed then.😄

So I am coming at this from a irl perspective. I have 2 old friends.... no. I have one old high school friend and a former HS classmate that I am FB friends just for the delicious drama.
The friend is in a stable 6 person poly group that really works because none of them are bound to each other. They live in several different abodes, some shared, and balance spending time with each other vs adulting.

The drama boy is a effing con-man sleaze who convinces women that they love him and that open relationships are 'teh way'. He then leeches off of them, one at a time and moves from house to house to keep them from realizing he is such a bum. Until he messes up and has to do damage control to keep one angry woman from burning down his little scam.

Fiction wise, most are really bare bones slock without any effort put into fleshing out the members as more than just checkmarks to fill a kink list, ala Smartphone.

Hinata, from Naruto.

What can I say, I like them shy.

@jpwong Yeah, given the predictions of when the JP pub will finish up and where we are in relation to it, it'll finish up before we catch up.

@piisfun Would have slipped (again) way earlier if it was going to, since physical books have to be shipped to bookstores and distributors well before the release date.

I will also like volume 7 as well as 14 and 17 in print but I may have to hope for a reprint like what Haruhi Suzumiya got instead of searching for those volumes on sale. I'm sending out my wishes that Yen Press will continue to translate the series and therefore make previous volumes more available.

I can't stand that.

"Oh look here... there is a new Volume of X!"
"....."
"Dammit it's the damn manga!"

I also wish I could have Amazon filter out JNC Titles since I read all those, well... here

Apparently Yen Press found out that I was going to have a busy April 19 (6 different kindle titles releasing that day), so they moved some of them.

Must be getting hard to get ebooks imported in a timely manner.

@piisfun said in Removing book inserts:

That's a thing?

I wish I could say that was the strangest allergy I've heard of, but unfortunately, it isn't.

I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, so I react to a lot of different things. Unfortunately manufacturers and retailers usually do not disclose the name of the specific inks and papers used, or their ingredients, so I couldn't tell you what specifically I react to. Some are ok for me and others aren't. The ones J-Novel Club used on their physical releases are not ok for me, so I stick to the ebook releases.

Volume 6 was published February 2 2022 in Japan so that's a month ago.

See https://forums.j-novel.club/topic/3478/future-volume-release-schedule for general information about the future release schedule for JNC series.

JNC do not normally comment on licensing negotiations or expected release dates so the first you would hear about it would probably when the first part of the new volume is released.

JNC has never dropped a series which is ongoing in Japan but there are sometimes delays as they negotiate licenses, wait for assets from Japan, and secure the availability of the translator/editor etc.

Two points:

Those of you who talked about the end of the WN please put your comments on the final battle under spoilers; some prefer not to know such things so we can read the LN with fresh eyes

I believe that author has written in the afterword about how huge chunks of the story were rewritten from the WN, such as the section with the ice dragon in the Mystic Mountains. Therefore, it could be that the end is significantly different from what it is in the WN

@poisonedbite So what you're saying is, it's entirely possible — and, in fact, probable — that the LN has not only diverged in details, but also in plot, from the WN?

Let me help you out here. Everything after the Araba fight is different. Like, alternate universe/different timeline different. You get the same major plot points but that's about it. They're basically different stories and should both be read.

Ok, I will be honest and upfront, I DON'T like Rudy. He's still just a selfish perverted old man in the body of a young man, that the women in his life put up with his nonsense can only be explained one way, they want his power for their children. Sylphiette is a doormat, Roxy is impressed by his power and has confidence issues, and Eris is just stupid.
I think what really ruined him for me was when he just stood there and watched as a young beastgirl was raped and beaten to death in from of him. He was not helpless or powerless, he just decided her life wasn't worth his time. Compare that to how Ruijerd and Eris react when a child is in danger, they burst into violent action. His attitude towards slavery also pisses me off but that's another topic.
If the other people in the LN weren't interesting (Eris and Roxy), I wouldn't read it at all.

It's almost certainly never getting another volume.
But I also don't think it ended in a particularly bad place. There was a good climax, and a very fundamental part of the backstory was made pretty clear as well. The overall plot was obviously not concluded but it wasn't like there was a massive cliffhanger.

@georgemto I guess good books and good business sense don’t always go together.

Somewhere between nil and none honestly. I don't recall seeing any actual sales data, but I believe I remember Sam mentioning that it was a title that they expected to do better than it did.

Which doesn't mean they lost money on it mind you, but it doesn't encourage funding a physical release.

@wellwisher Thank you,
I looked at the changes in volume 1 to 3 and the second link.
Have yet to look at all of the changes. Need to be careful, since accepting any small Censorship might be a snowball rolling down a hill. <--- Paraphrasing.
pretty much not sure how I feel about the original Changes,
Will be looking in the link Lily Garden linked me, and look at the other changes when I can, and then either just buy the kindle version that had their Censorship fixed. While Buying volume 10 and physical possibly.
