That's interesting. I'm glad you decided to not go with that approach. From what I've learned of Japanese business, relationships are important. I feel like you'd ruin whatever industry connections you may have garnered over the years if you tried something like that.
Stolen translations? Yeah, that'd piss some people off.
Thanks for the links. From what I've gathered, a fan translation site was starting to turn semi-pro and made a handshake deal with Qidan while in negotiations. During the negotiations Qidan drove a hard bargain, possibly trying to bully the site into submission, but they didn't cave. So, Qidan tried to smear, failed miserably, and took what was translated from the translators and put it up on their site verbatim. Did I get that right?
@jack-tamaki SEE! I’m not crazy!
... Well okay I am... but the point is that I am not wrong about the issue existing... That is unless Jack is trying to make me seem crazier than I am willing to confirm...
This appears to have been fixed if it was in error. At least the last few volumes I clicked on don't offer equal coin up to cost once added to the cart (it shows equal coins on the item page, so be careful).
I managed to snag a few including Omawari Himari and Sundays Without God. =]
@pleco_breeder just as Mr. Nebeling said other then part 1 a series is removed from prepub the first 15th of the month after ebook publication.
There is also this helpful topic which gives hard dates for series with upcoming expiration dates.
Yeah that’s the one, I thought I would just use the generic English name so it would be easier for you to find.
The anime only covered the first 3 volumes, which is a shame because I feel the 4th is the most interesting.
Before discovering Light novels I pretty much read exclusively fantasy and sci-fi so really the current trends fit very nicely with my personal preference in terms of stories. Outside of Isekai, pure fantasy, or sci-fi I doubt I would have much interest in other types of light novels.
It's the harem series that made me the harem lover I am today. Each version of it (anime/manga/light novel) is different in the way the story is conveyed which makes them all worth reading.
@paul-nebeling well the first volume for Arifuereta was 🔥 so here’s hoping it won’t suck. I’m sure for those unpatient “fools” like myself will want to know what happens next after ep1 or 2 when he falls down the rift and ultimately fall into the grasps of JNC and either just buy the book or buy the book and get hooked up on other series XD .
@hyferzftw said in Rightstuf giveaway today for Grimgar volume 1 (and a bunch of other good games / manga / anime):
@terrence I'm extremly lucky when it comes to in game rng for mostly any game but irl it's so much harder. Although now and then I do win a couple hundred from scratch off tickets. But as for a big give away I've only won one once(that was hard to type XD ) .I feel like it's impossible. But I guess you don't know how lucky you really are until you try. I don't personally ever try.
I'm... Ok with contests in the past, but it's all luck of the draw.
I've won about 13(?) books on Goodreads in the past, though I hear that if you don't do reviews for those immediately, they stop letting you win contests. I haven't won one in the last like 11 months, but I've mostly been sticking to Yen Press Giveaways there.
I won a contest for a video game once because I think I was the only entrant. xD
I've never won anything from GLEAM contests. Also, never won the Taco Bell PSVita / PS4 / PSVR contests (I think you had to be the first person to enter on a random minute the second the minute changes, so that's almost impossible for a human).
I got the 40% off Bookwalker coupon earlier in the week, but haven't gotten the 50% one. =[
