At least Byaku seems to be the only one who has not totally lost perspective on Big/Sister stuff with Ange and Char. One would think that Ange would hold a longer grudge against those who sent an army of undead after her dad.

I'm inclined to agree, but am curious as to why you think so.
I loved season 1

They skipped so much good stuff in the 2nd season to focus on the harem. Wasting time on the side stories. Why introduce Caroline Rilletes at all. Founding of Brunhild was mostly skipped. The book has good world building they skip most of it.

@Angelus I have read the 5th novel already. It was great.

I found the animation designs a bit too cute for my taste. However, I am slightly interested in the story so I might watch a couple more episodes. I did watch 80,000 gold and enjoyed it but it had a great OP and ED that pulled me in. Potions' OP and ED are a bit lacking, though for my taste. Generally, it seems that FUNA novels tend to have cute illustrations that are slightly distasteful to me even if the story is interesting.

The anime mis-explained her use of aether during her fight with Rahl... Had her explain that she was using her aether to counter his mana... Which wasn't necessary because his spell required eye contact to work and she spent the entire fight with her eyes closed. Which they then never commented why she was able to do that. In truth she was using the flow of aether around her to "feel" where Rahl was while fighting, since her eyes were shut.

I feel pretty satisfied with the anime.
the production told a story that fit within a cour, and ended at a good place, with few loose ends.

Aaaaaaaand... This one is getting a 3rd Season!

Well, the second season wasn't as bad as the first, but I wouldn't say it was especially great either. But, it is what it is. It does look like they may just well intend to animate the entire story at this point. All we can hope for is that they continue to try and do a better job with the 3rd season vs the 1st and 2nd.

Still watching but now Egyptians and Babylonians fighting? This is NOT Earth! Must be one of those worm hole things where people from different time periods coexist or something, and there is an afterlife in this world... maybe?

@pcj Unfortunately, I have read all the LN, so I know where everyone is going to end up. While it does spoil the suspense, (I refuse to post any spoilers, even in tags.) it does make every flustered reaction that much sweeter.

We're only three episodes in, and I'm wondering how far we are going to get. Maybe thru volume 8? We'll see. Heck, it's been so long since I read those early volumes that I'm going "Oh, yeah. That's right." and chuckling a lot.

@killerrin My guess is that with the introduction of more streaming platforms competing for a piece of the anime pie, the overall licensing costs have gone up. After all, there's a limit to how many new shows come out each season, so it's not quite like the LN market where titles are coming out faster than any company would be able to grab them.

Might not really impact the censored shows so much, that could just be that they're unwilling to pay the likely additional costs to host the less censored stream. If it's not going to impact the number of viewers (or more importantly, paying subscribers) it might not make a lot of sense to pay extra.
