I am a premium member and was never informed that there was a beta app. I don't frequent these forums, so I've been suffering with the poorly coded app that LegitPancake is dealing with. You can't login without force quitting first; you can't turn your iPad sideways or the app will reset your reading location; and if other apps have used memory since you were last reading, you return to a blank page.

Installing TestFlight isn't difficult. I'm already doing beta for another app. You guys should promote the new app more. It's a great improvement, even unfinished as it is.

@LegitPancake When you get the blank page, tap in the middle to cause the menu to drop down. You can exit the book and then reload it.

@myskaros I appreciate the feedback. Amazon has now updated the release date to match your own. Good luck getting it out. I'm looking forward to receiving it.

The crash loop manga reader is still there on ipad mini 5th gen on ios 15.0.1 with Firefox 38.0 and Safari. I have more time to test things out this time. The tests below is using Faraway Paladin manga.

This is with FF:

ipad in portrait mode when the page loads (single page, side page advance): the loop appears. ipad in landscape mode when page loads (double page, side page advance): no loop! but tiny images make my eyes bleed... ipad in landscape on page load, switch to single page (still side page advance): no loop. ipad in landscape on page load, switch to single page, turn ipad to portrait mode: no loop.. for 5 - 6 pages, then crash. ipad in landscape on page load, turn ipad to portrait mode (reader automatically goes from double page landscape to single page portrait): no loop through end of chapter. I tried this with another chapter, so there shouldn't be any pages in history.

Using Safari, I get similar results as FF above, except the "switch to portrait" trick does not seem as reliable. I went through 2 chapters in FF without problems, but crashed first of 2 on safari. The safari crash was hard (restarted ipad), so maybe something in memory was cleared out letting the 2nd run complete.

As before, iphone se on 15.0.1 does not seem to have this crash, but I did not test as much due to the tiny screen.

If I attempt a password reset on the main site I get "User not found"

If I try to sign up with the same email: "Failed to sign up: Could Not Save User to Forum: Email taken"

I hoped to work around this by deleting the forum account and then signing up again, but that option doesn't seem to exist in Settings.

If I try to sign in with Google I get "500 Internal Server Error" on https://api.j-novel.club/auth/google/callback?code=<snipped long code goes here>

Yeah, I checked and it turned out unlike my physical debit card, the digital card does not allow overseas transactions. I had to upgrade my digital debit card account to premium to have this feature which is annoying because it involves lots of government verification stuff that needs to be approved.

Well now that it's approved and I have overseas transaction enabled, the card works and I now can happily read the prepubs. Thank you all for the help.

It looks to be fix for me. Loaded several chapters and didn't get a single error when before I had like a 90% chance of getting one.

Kindle app does not read epub files; limitation imposed by Amazon.

There are various applications that will convert between ebook types. I use Calibre, which is free and quite capable. Just converted two epubs to Kindle mobi files a few minutes ago, and shipped them off to Amazon to display on my Kindles.

For the PC, you can also use any number of readers that will directly access epub files.

I got the "error" too, though I caught what had happened before I tried again.

@kuuderes_shadow You can see the purchase dates on the beta app, at least. I don’t know of such a function on the website, however. You can see how it looks in my app below.

Your best bet is to use their email contact as this involves a payment issue support@j-novel.club

But some steps you can take yourself is to contact your card issuer in case it's an issue on their end. Assuming that JNC attempted to charge the card, your card issuer should be able to see what went wrong on their end (if the transaction was flagged as suspicious for example)

From what I know all release dates are manually entered in the system so the book being release on December 2020 is definitely a typo and not on purpose.

@qu1nch1a Partly Yes. If it is expired you could either buy it to read it or wait for a catchup month. Every months some series are made free to read for members. Like Black Summoner plus 5 other LN and one Manga this month. So as a member you can read all Volumes of it.

J-Novel Club has used Stripe as its payment processor since it first started almost 5 years ago. There have been no changes on that front whatsoever. It's more likely that there's something wrong with your card, which you will have to call your bank or card issuer to investigate.
