@artistofmanga Well yes, there was a number of strange translation choice but overall that part is okay.
The real problem is more in the details, the best exemple i think is how at some point there a character, who, when they use their powers, in the background the name of all the skill they're using is displayed. But the french version doesn't translate everything instead they use a slightly bigger font and use the characters to cover a lot of the text.
It's not that important but it happen with a number of other things and it's kinda infuriating.
It's not terrible but i found the english fantranslation to be of better quality overall.

Since I rewrite it and finally made a post for Medaka box, it's probably a good time to bump this topic.

Normally this would be a series I would be interested in, but sadly, being aware of the background behind the novel (i.e. the author), you can tell as the series continues towards completion that they are no longer interested in the series so I was rather disappointed in it.

For a series I am aware of, I would have to say I would not be interested in this, despite the first five novels being quite laughable and humorous and how enjoyable the anime series was.

@yumenokage What's impressive is more that it's all part of the same serie, 144 book in itself is a lot but not that much for someone who write his whole life.
There's an (incomplet) list on wiki of the most prolific author the top apparently being 4000+.
At least excluding Philip M. Parker who devloped an algorithme to write book from templates using large database which has write more than 2E5 books, but most of them are reference books.

The day JNC licenses a long shoujo manga will be an amazing day and a shocking day if it's a Hakusensha title like this one. Not to say it's impossible as JNC has taken baby steps into the genre and other publishers have finally broken the mold that says all Shogakukan, Hakusensha and Shueisha manga titles must go to Viz or not at all, but there still hasn't been too many yet. I've held off on requesting my laundry list of shoujo titles here as many fall under that umbrella of Japanese publishers and because it still seems like a pipe-dream to me, but here's an upvote regardless as I always want to see more love for shoujo.

Those were my thoughts exactly. I read a couple reviews on the LN years ago, and they were quite positive. I'd consider this a hidden gem. Fingers crossed!

I love that it’s a story about a 73 year old happy to be reborn as a young 63. Plus I’m a big tea enthusiast so him being a tea plantation owner is a plus.
