To add to what @myskaros said, a lot of suggestions come from titles that have other forms of media already licensed, like manga adaptations and Anime adaptations.

Beyond that while it is completely understandable that people read fan TLs come here and recommend a title be licensed they don’t outright say go read the fan TL.

I like the rat and it sounds like a lot of other slice of life anime I enjoy so I'll give this an upvote. It sounds a bit like Anima Yell which I recently watched on crunchyroll, so I'd love to read a similar light novel like that.

has potential....what is HER 'deal"? did she mistake him for someone else (is she really being stalked? or is she paranoid? ) what will the police do when the see the creepy artwork in his apartment? (serial killer much?)

what will happen with their relationship after the awkward introduction?

I like the main Character because he kinda reminds me of young Shiroe from Log Horizon. Not as smart, but has similar tendencies. He prefers to not be in the limelight. If he can send someone to do it, he will. If he is the only one that can, he won't hesitate to go into the field. He buffs people, he is a strategist. I don't really consider this as a spoiler because you will learn this within the first couple chapters. I think he is the reason I like it.

Okay, that gives me enough reason to upvote this, since strategist/support MCs are cool.

That's the downside of a true slice of life story I suppose, no big hook or novelty factor like ReLife had.

The only goal or overarching plot is mentioned right there in the synopsis in the first post - four screw ups trying to prevent having to repeat a year. People will either dig the whole coming of age thing of them working & growing together or find it boring as hell.

The MC starts off really weak too, they needed to flesh him out more way earlier than they did. Until we got those extra details of his backstory I didn't find him sympathetic at all & was more interested in all the other characters.

To be fair, those two are relatively unknown series whereas Expelled From Paradise, IIRC, had a bit of advertising when it was released a few years ago, has mecha and more importantly, fanservice.
