@IOK1-0 It's only been two and a half months since volume 5 came out in Japan. The average turnaround on caught up novels tends to be a fair bit longer than that. There will likely be no update from anyone on the JNC side until they're ready to start releasing the pre-pubs.

@endoftheline There is a direct line of causality from the Bookworm anime to my being here, so I don't doubt the influence of anime on sales.

I just thought of another useful subset: the most recent tranche of new series. As these all started at the same time on JNC, they should be fairly equal on recency bias, so it should be a pretty fair comparison.

Although Eizo has a few up on Mike, Joel, and Jonah, in that he (1) doesn't have to deal with a member of the Forrester Family and (2) isn't stuck watching bad movies. Although they do have him beat for number of companions who are wisecracking robots.

You raised my hope and dashed them expertly with the title. I thought we are finally getting another volume.

I'm still holding out for this just like I'm holding out for the hope that one day Fire Girl will be licensed.

Still going through all the new licenses, but from the ones that interested me enough to start reading that I've gotten to so far Land Mines seems interesting, but I'll need to see where this one is headed before I commit to it fully. Fantasy Inbound has some potential, but it's not catching my interest enough to do more than keep tabs on the pre-pubs so far. Magic Knight doesn't appear to be the type of story I'm interested in after reading the first two parts, so I'll probably pass on it.

Still have to try Quiet Blacksmith, but I've seen the manga, and I'm not sure it's going to pull my interest enough to keep going, I guess I'll find out once I get to the reading part.

Supernatural Battles I plan to read simply because I liked the anime and I'm interested in seeing where the story goes after where the anime left off.

side note -I just realized that the algorithm (?) at Bezos and co. tags Slayers as a children's book - I wonder if that mis-categorization has anything to do with the censorship some LNs have been getting - in general these are not 'chapter books' for 8-12 year-olds
