I'd love to see the Muv-Luv novels make it over! Especially if they're translated by enjoievan.

I think I remember reading this (possible as webnovel). Is this the one where the police come when he first tries to

    spoiler

I think it was a post or comment @Terrence said that got me reading a bit of this and one other with a similar premise.

Actually, I don't really discern much between LN and general literature.
A lot of old LNs are sold or rebranded as non-LN title now.
There's this new medium in the gray area called "light bungei" as well.
So I just lump them all together as Japanese literature (even if some complain about how LN can be literature, I just use the term "pop literature" lol)

@doublemangekyo said in Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls:

Alternate history setting + faction wars + sword fights + fan-service hijinks = Novel I wanna see translated.

I couldn't agree more. You have my upvote.

You can post licensing suggestions here: https://forums.j-novel.club/category/13/licensing-suggestions

Or a mod can move this topic and you can edit it. Though, this being an Alphapholis novel it will be difficult for now.

After reading 55 chapters of manga, I have to say that this story is bellow average. The MC is your typical beta male isekai protagonist, dense and faints with a nose bleed when he sees a naked lady.
He has an ability that is similar to Hajime's from Arifureta, but a lot more powerful and no ambition to achieve anything beyond being a lackey to royal family.
The story revolves around various countries trying to become more powerful and MC putting out embers of conflict before they break into all out war. Honestly, this is a rather boring story.

    @bloodygaikotsu I translated it!
And the Death Note novel, which is far and away the best of the three.

Another Holic was...a challenge to translate at all. I vaguely remember the plot revolving around a code that only made sense using a Japanese cell phone's predictive text...
And spending four hours on the phone with an editor who kept saying, "Whyyyy does he write like this?"

    Trash, human trash.
It means Scum, glasses, and literature girl.
Which reminds me that I failed to mention he has stalker tendencies.

I think a Goblin Slayer story focused on a goblin could work maybe.

John Gardner managed to make Grendel look like the good guy (and Beowulf the bad guy). We could see the story of one of the Goblins that didn't come out of his hole, or one of the Goblins whose whole family died to Goblin Slayer, but he managed to live, and he plans revenge.

Goblins themselves are being manipulated and used by the people controlling the board, the "gods". They're the ones who made the rule that Goblins can't reproduce without a human host.

I've always thought it'd be interesting to explore what would happen if a woman they saved gave birth to a Goblin, and then an orphanage decided to take the Goblin in from birth. Is the way they act in their genes, or is it a learned parental environment thing?

I do want this series. Having a goblin lead should be interesting, reincarnated human or no.

@rahul-balaggan No shame there, I was the same. When I saw it on the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi list, I instantly became interested. I know they say "don't judge a book by its cover" but honestly, eye-candy goes a long way XD

@jon-mitchell It would probably be best to post in the original topic that it literally gets bumped up allowing more users to also show their support.

So I will be locking this topic down since it is a duplicate.

There is a suggestion forum where you can create requests or show support for a book/series, and that series has already gotten a topic.

I've actually followed what little of the manga has been translated and this series seems to be a fairly good one. It definitely has some promise and would not mind seeing either the light novel or the manga translated by JNC!

This is an enjoyable series about a hikkomori trying to turn his life around after he somehow got summoned to another world. However he gets treated like trash by the narrator. Frankly if I could permanently silence anyone in this series it would be the narrator and we get a new narrator that is a little bit more impartial.

@stardf29 I'm not sure I'd characterize that one as straight-forward reverse, perhaps more like a cross- one, plot does take partly place in the other world. Though thank you for reminding me, last one I read was the sidestory volume so I have some catching up to do. Once I first catch up on a few j-novel ones. And a few others (uuh...).

@blohmiller OK I guess it definitely falls under the Yuri genre as defined from Wikipedia's. It's about a vampire that takes what they call brides where she has to drink her brides blood once a day (like in Mysterious Girlfriend X) or they both suffer withdrawal from not doing it. Some people think it's borderline hentai but I don't see it in whats been translated so far.

Here is one comment I have found on it

I'm not into yuri at all, but I saw the interesting cover and decided to read. And boy (so far), I'm impressed. It's a real steaming read without actual sex, kissing, foreplay or the like. As for the characters, they are tropey: the main poor, orphan main female lead x the popular, rich, beautiful, student council president whom is the vampire. But their interaction is cute and they're both pure which I'm guessing is normal in this genre. Since it's ongoing, it can turn in an ugly direction too, so I can't say much, but it does look like a nice, fluffy and steaming read.

Edit: I clicked on the author and realized she? creates doujins of my fave LoveLive pairings. And oh, this is her? first non-hentai work, which definitely shows.

    Japanese vis-à-vis Western usage
As of 2009, the term yuri is used in Japan to mean the depiction of attraction between women (whether sexual or romantic; explicit or implied) in manga, anime, and related entertainment media, as well as the genre of stories primarily dealing with this content.[5][16] The wasei-eigo construction "Girls Love" (ガールズラブ gāruzu rabu), occasionally spelled "Girl's Love" or "Girls' Love", or abbreviated as "GL", is also used with this meaning.[3][16] Yuri is generally a form of fanspeak amongst fans, but its usage by authors and publishers has increased since 2005.[3][5] The term "Girls Love", on the other hand, is primarily used by the publishers.[16][17]

In North America, yuri has initially been used to denote only the most explicit end of the spectrum, deemed primarily as a variety of hentai.[6] Following the pattern of shōnen-ai, a term already in use in North America to describe content involving non-sexual relationships between men, Western fans coined the term shōjo-ai to describe yuri without explicit sex.[6] In Japan, the term shōjo-ai (少女愛, lit. girl love) is not used with this meaning,[6] and instead tends to denote pedophilia (actual or perceived), with a similar meaning to the term lolicon (Lolita complex).[18] The Western use of yuri has broadened in the 2000s, picking up connotations from the Japanese use.[16] American publishing companies such as ALC Publishing and Seven Seas Entertainment have also adopted the Japanese usage of the term to classify their yuri manga publications.[19][20]
