We've been informed that the Guild Master called it correctly, that their prepared defensive plan was successful, that there were casualties, and that this is something the kingdom budgets for.
That it's not some unexpected thing, but rather something the local infrastructure is built to handle at semi-regular intervals.

This kingdom is competent.

Ryo himself may be problematical, but the kingdom he currently finds himself within isn't.

Really glad this is back. It makes a great after-Christmas present.

I think the hungry hoard's stomach juices are strong enough to destroy (dissolve) any and all parasites. After all, they are not normal everyday beasts.

The dukes had achieved great things back when the kingdom was founded. Because of their history and because the first generation of each ducal house is connected to the royal family by marriage, we address them differently than other countries would. Take Duke Howard, for instance—the head of the Howard family that guards the lands north of the capital. He would customarily be called “His Grace” elsewhere, but we address him as “His Highness.” His sons and daughters are styled “Highness” as well.
The original plan had supposedly been to enfeoff the dukes as royal dukes, but they had objected that this was “irreverent.” The royal family refused to back down, however, so the ducal houses eventually kept “Highness” as a compromise. I’d heard the dukes were secretly still included in the royal line of succession, but who knew whether that was really true. It was all so confusing.

I'll be honest this manga was getting a little stale for me, but than the necronomicon came out and I remembered why I love this manga.

Following up on this, the manga does a lovely job adapting the LN, and the LN is wondrous source material.

A bit of a slower volume, introducing the academy and teasing future conflicts, but not quite getting to any of them. Still cute, especially where Pochi is concerned.

In case you didn't know, if you care about someone, you should leave them while they struggle, disappear in a war-torn country, read their letters but never write back, be secretly in contact with your family and theirs but forbid anybody from even telling them you're alive, then swoop in eight or so years later, long after they've solved all their issues on their own, to declare your love and kiss them without permission.

Or at least that's what this series would have you believe.

I'm not quite hate-reading it, but the twists and turns are just so bizarre and the characters so unbelievable it's hard to put down. A car-wreck in a manga form, if you will.

I know you don't like the question "When will the next volume be translated?", so I say it in an other way that'll make you happy (I hope xD ) : I'm a huge fan of this series and you can count me in to read both manga and Light Novel.
