They said the wood was to build the magic stone furnace. They didn't use it to burn in the furnace. Though I dunno why they can't go to the woods and cut down some more trees as the full snow hasn't started yet.

I'm not sure how long I can continue with Cooking with Wild Game: The Manga Companion.

Which is a shame.
And has nothing to do with the quality of translation; the illustrations tie in far too well with the text.
It's how the mangaka treats the story.

As I mentioned last time, just how does the mangaka plan upon handling the serious stuff?
Because it's gonna be a real jolt.

I love that Yuki succeeds in making "I went on a murderous rampage against the people who hurt you" sound almost romantic. It certainly shows his feelings, if nothing else.

I love how smoothly the tale transitions from Mary's version to Victoria's. Watching the Queen and Elizabeth discuss everything, and question whether or not they're dancing in Mary's palm, is fantastic because it gives us insight into how two of the strongest view events.

@Almond-Magnum It does feel like a confluence of two common factors in these sorts of stories: the "lifelong servant of an aristocrat" usually being anywhere from five to ten years older than their charge (as seen in other examples with any combination of genders and preferences), and these sorts of otome stories having the woman be in their teens or just out of it (nineteen seems to be the common age), and the man being a well-established twenty-something.

Don't write Allen off just yet. He and his minions harem strap-hangers friends are on their way to save you (whether you like it or not).

One of the areas where Manga Edward looks better than LN Edward:

As with the LN, I have to wonder how (and why) people would broadcast an entire royal wedding without giving anyone a good look at the bride and groom.

Now, to be fair, it is possible for some very well known faces to go unrecognised in public (there's a famous anecdote about Marilyn Monroe pulling it off with body language alone, for instance). But... uh, I don't think Carolina and Edward have the necessary skills to pull that one off.
