Oh, they've totally changed this bit up from the novels. I hated how it played out in the novels and I actually ended up sidelining the series into my ever-growing backlog at the end of the volume, so I'm happy with getting to see an alternate version.

And this week on The Unearned Hairdrills Can't Grant You Power - It turns out she wasn't the villainess, just a spoiled girl with an impractical hairstyle!:

So, a nice try, but it was kinda doomed to fail no matter what Carolina said - Marielle's just too far up her own arse.

"By all rights, your entire family ought to answer for your daughter's wrongdoings."

Or, at the very least, for their inability to keep one noblewoman in a room...

"I'm but a servant, someone unworthy of such consideration from you."

I totally get why, emotionally, Marissa feels that she doesn't deserve such consideration (being bullied all your life will do that to you).

Even if, in reality, its generally considered a good idea to stick up for the people working for/under you.

It's even more of a surprise (and a confusing one at that) if you use RSS feeds to track releases for series you read. Apparently they were all uploaded at exactly the same time so in my RSS feed, they were in a totally random order.

The author has totes done their research.

It would sure piss me off if someone who gives the impression of not being into something I was passionate about had received instruction from someone I wanted instruction from.
Just...what the effing hell?!

...it may be that they do have an interest in this stuff but since it hasn't been entirely their choice they kinda deny it.

Sounds like they've just reason to seek to advance through the dungeon, and they can be polite when needful. So lending them a hand when asked (especially when allowing him to experiment) isn't a bad thing to do.
