I swear Chelsea's irises get bigger every chapter. Several instances in this volume I started thinking she walked off the set of Children of the Damned or something.

En is adorable. I like that she was protective of Yuki because she is his sword.

Rike joins the family, quickly taking the family name forge name. She's got her one of the family knives already.

The story really works well in the manga, with details being shown and shortened for some of the processes. Seems like they'll really be able to put a focus on the slice of life aspect of the story.

Rike becomes another source of expressive faces, though I feel that Samya will still be the main source.

Just checked with the LN. The salt embargo was indeed implicated but never mentioned explicitly.
Most probable the citizens and soldiers still don't know the full impact of a salt shortage.

Meaning the kingdom and it's soldiers are the aggressors, even without pillaging and raping. And most don't even realize.

I do like how the manga is progressing and following the LN. Just wish it could be further along...

I find that I like the series the best for parts that make the least sense. And in that way, the opening part of the book, the dove head ritual, was supreme.
(Though chapter 14, which is just Collette meeting a random kid on the street and playing a game together, was a close second.)

Yeah, so the silly art club people are back. This volume didn't quite match the height of the head model chapter of the previous volume, but it was still funny. I think a big part of what makes it work is guessing which way things will go wrong this time. Some chapters are easier (the pool cleaning), some harder (sensei's costume), but things are never quiet around here.

Oof, think that might be the longest manga chapter I've seen outside of chapter 1s.

This manga is so fun - I love Serephione (which, actually... how was that name decided? SerAphione flows far better...), how proactive she is, and how focused!

Also, watching her stomp some sense into Alma's Stupid Twin was great, and his sudden puppy crush is honestly adorable xD
I mean, he's a kid. An asshole kid, but very much a kid. There's room to grow.
