Seems every volume introduces some new characters (and relegates the old ones to the background. ...or deletes them. still haven't seen Rina since v1).

This volume introduced two girls. One is cool, and one is very annoying. However, the "haggling" scene was funny, so I'll cut her some slack.

Hope both the Light Novel series and the Manga series continue.

I forgot just how absurd the flight with the Captain was, given how long it's been since this happened in the novels. The sight of him jumping around with a pair of tree trunks feels like it should have come from some mecha fight. 😁

Yeah, and it's still not fixed yet. Well, it has been released and the streaming going to end soon.

Personally, I feel like he probably doesn't see the need. That first argument was before he was training Arcus in magic, and he probably felt he needed someone to stick up for him (just being a kid and all). But once Craib started training Arcus, he learned about Arcus's goal to get payback on Joshua, and he quickly learned that Arcus is no pushover. With how tough Craib is on Arcus after that, he probably figures Arcus can stick up for himself. Plus, he knows Joshua is stubborn, and going off at him isn't going to change his mind. Lecia notes in LN volume 2 that (minor spoiler, but I guess I'll be safe):

Which probably has something to do with it. But imo, he knows that Arcus will eventually show Joshua up, and in a big way, and that's probably the only chance anyone has of getting the message through his thick skull. I think he's just content to let Arcus take care of Joshua by himself, because he knows he can and will. He might feel like getting involved now would just undermine his nephew.

Why is this Manga not available on BOOKWALKER like all the other Manga Volume releases?

Turns out he doesn't mind dying if the fight was good enough.
He was true to his passion, he wasn't a bully...just not sane in his desire for a fight.
He clearly got off on a good enough fight, so his head was miswired in a dangerous manner.
Doesn't make his actions acceptable, but it still makes him just a tad less vile that he wasn't totes sadistic, that he really was a battle junkie of that caliber.
Still someone needing elimination for the common good.

Seeing that this volume releases this week, I'm now anxious for volume 3!

Actually I want volume 5 because the Bookwalker cover has the Arthurs....

The manga skipped it, but as well as taking The Woman's supplies she also took some clothes and food etc from the orphanage (and specifically good food the old woman had kept to herself)

@jpwong Given that his job is textiles, I think it's safe to presume he can tell when cloth itself has shrunk. Maybe the seems are a bit stretched from trying to contain the same amount of stuffing, or the fabric is too taut.
