This topic reminded me of some navigation weirdness I noticed in this volume, so I finally sent an e-mail to the support address (support@j-novel.club). Message pasted below:

Minor Navigation Issues in Housekeeping Mage Volume 1

This Discussion reminded me of a few minor navigation issues I noticed in the premium epub for this volume but hadn't put the effort into reporting yet:

The navigation for the ebook wraps everything but Cover and Color Illustration under Part 1: A Housekeeping Mage's Daily Life.  The content under this section includes Part 2: The Familiar's Homecoming, Afterword, Side Story: Rurii's Soliloquy, Bonus Short Story, About J-Novel Club, and Copyright, which almost certainly don't belong there. The navigation for the ebook does not link to Chapter 6: We Will Care for Those Who Suddenly Fall Ill. The Table of Contents does not list or link Chapter 6: We Will Care for Those Who Suddenly Fall Ill.

I noticed this in Calibre v6.5.0 on Windows and the Lithium App v0.24.1 on Android.  My copy of the epub is Ebook edition 1.0: March 2022.

That is good to hear, when you have some time if you could give some more details about the android device download not working that would be appreciated.

There is a possibility that your android phone does not have an app to read the files on installed, if that is the case I would recommend downloading google play books, and trying to download the manga again.

That may fix it, it may not.

I went to kobo.com, searched for "death's daughter," and it's the 3rd item in the search results for me.

From what you wrote, you purcgased the item at the KNC site, the downlead button appeared, and whatever software you are using to view the site then says it can't open the downlead link, correct?

The relevant question would seem to be, "What software package are you using to access the JNC web site?"
JNC app? Web browser? Something else entirely?

Whether you have anything installed to read the file once downloaded should only become relevant when attempting to open the file itself.

Right, they're willing to take the cut on those now. I imagine it'll use the app store payment method.

Another request for PayPal here - UK Banks are quite abusive when it comes to foreign currency payments, so if I pay in dollars, it will cost me almost the same amount again in handling fees and poor exchange rates.

I totally want to sign up here, but that isn't going to happen if I have to use my card directly.

Are you on PC or mobile/tablet? What browser+version and operating system are you on? Which manga chapter specifically are you trying to read? Did you try reading any other manga chapters; if so, do they all crash the website, or just some of them? Did you try reading in incognito mode?

It's been a problem for me ever since they started the manga reader on the new website version. It's been reported several times, but no progress.
