Reading this week’s part and the comments here makes me wonder just who knows about who Akira is.
Not sure you're thinking of what I'm thinking of... not just his status as a Godless Palanquin, but his heritage as one of the Eight Families, his initial training by his family, and his later rejection by that family.
Red and Tsuguho, probably a few of the named assistants whose names I don't remember
Red, yes. Tsuguho... as I said, I've got major doubts, especially after your prior post. If Tsuguho knows about him being a scion of the Eight Families, there's a lot about her behavior that doesn't really make sense; as you pointed out, she seems to be treating him more as the commoner he's been acting as. Named assistants, I'm dubious; they seem to be keeping his identity close.
Black and Gioin Shizumi, more named assistants whose names I don't remember
They're the only ones I can be sure know exactly who and what he is, since they've been following him most of his life. And even they didn't know about how he's been treated by his family, or that he was kicked out and is living as a commoner.
Fuyo Gozen, the spirit residing within Ugetsu Fusae, Akira's Grandmother (it's ambiguous if Fusae knew, but it's beyond a shadow of a doubt that Gozen did granted she spoke with Akira right before he became (almost) void and met Red)
They know about him being a Godless Palanquin, yes. About his current situation... I'm not sure what they know.
Rindo Saki ("Since receiving orders to assist with Akira's training, she'd been given some knowledge regarding Godless Palanquins, but only so she could prevent others from learning the same." Volume 2 Prologue - And Yet Life Goes on Unchanged)
No, I can be certain she doesn't know about his heritage or family situation. And it sounds like there's a lot she doesn't know about Godless Palanquins.
Rindo Kozaburo, Saki's father.
Same.
Presumably the other heads of the eight houses not name Ugetsu, assuming they haven't also forgotten about Godless Palanquins
They may know about Godless Palanquins; given Ugetsu's work to erase Akira from public knowledge, I'd be surprised if they even know about him at all, let alone that he is one.
