The mangaka did a very nice job showing the aura of demonic might held tightly leashed begging to be let loose.

I cannot believe that this was just 6 volumes. The story barely begun...the last 4 pages was just... so underwhelming.

I wish we could have gotten some more chapters of them dating or at least a ‘morning after’ scene but it was still a decent ending

Hmm... For that escape, I have to give Marielle a solid 'A' for planning and timing, a 'B' for sprinting in noble dress and heeled boots, and a 'C' for pickpocketing and ring retention.

Simeon also gets an 'A' for his wife-fishing skills. Dragging that much wet fabric through the water can't be easy!

@TheGrimLich Rats, the way they (and everyone else around them) were acting at breakfast, I thought for sure they had consummated the wedding. All that for a kiss? I'll never understand the mind of a present day Japanese Light Novelist. None of the Japanese men I worked with in the past acted like the introverted male characters in the current manga, anime and novels I'm seeing.

Aww they cut the funniest line from the novels. When Remille asides that he tamed the tentacle monsters anyway when Ciel wasn't looking, just in case.

Reading this right after I finished novel #4, the sudden jump to a completely different part of the storyline was pretty shocking. There used to be so much more plot! Things happened that actually mattered! Parfette was crying because she was stuck in a bad situation, not because it was her character-defining trait!
I really liked the older Lady Albert a lot more than I do the newer ones...

That's just the novels though. I have no complaints about the manga. In particular, the faces in the manga are simply perfect. And it's doing both the serious and the funny moments just right.

@Terabyte I recommend that you read Vol 1 P9 of the LN that was released last week. It picks up from the end of this week's manga and is the start of an interesting decision made by Ryo to a proposal by Abel.

This tale is done, but their story continues.

Have to wonder how much the folks at the very top of the Sanctum know concerning it, given the hand's off approach advocated concerning the Captain.

While at the time my thought was that it would gain them more knowledge if he were left to his own devices, if the folks at the top knew something of this it could be more 'leave him be and he'll add more to the biological preserve' as well as the benefit of unscheduled visits to various locations uncovering matters needing to be dealt with that otherwise wouldn't have been learned of until they'd gotten far worse.

You can't get more 'unscheduled' than someone focused on their own curiosity.
He's also decent at leaving a place in better shape as a society than he found it.
The only major downside is that he's a bureaucrat's nightmare.

But seriously, are these backstabbers not real sailors? I can't imagine a sailor would set fire to the boat they themselves are sailing on with no escape plan in the middle of the ocean, that's just strait up dumb, especially since the plan seems to be to burn every boat in the fleet?

Also side note, when I was checking to make sure there was a vol 10 out in Japan already, I noticed there seems to be a spin off manga for this series that just came out earlier this year. Sweet Reincarnation ~ Licorice Diary ~ Vol 1 was released a month after Vol 10 came out.

I'd toss out how many years it's been since she last saw him and how much folks can change appearance in that amount of time if in that age range...

Meanwhile, I like the casual implication that the guildmaster has abused his position to use the power if the guild for seemingly random or mundane tasks in the past on a often enough basis that he's familiar with the repercussions.
