Finished this and loved it. Much better than the first episode of the anime. I actually got a feel for all of the characters, and there are definitely some interesting plot lines and teases going on. Ryotasu in particular is pretty suspicious...

I took a break from the show after episode 4, but I should really rewatch from the first episode and catch-up.

Some typos (not sure if it's too late to point these out):

@ 46% "I head a girl's voice next to me..." Should be heard.

@ 63% "I knew you could do two-way communication with a radio like this..." Should be couldn't.

After 63% wrench and pliers are used interchangeably.

I love to imagine this series with an anime adaptation. Every time Yuichi flashes back to some bizarre thing Mutsuko made him do in the middle of an ordinary conversation, the image flashes before my eyes.

Reading this now... I prefer the LN to the anime quite a bit. Being able to read things at your own pace is nice, and I feel this does a much better job of introducing and developing things so far. I feel like I have more context for what happened in episode 1. Reading this has me super into O;9 again, and I want to go back and catch-up with the anime (I fell behind a few weeks ago).

Kudos to the translator too, some of the jokes and other stuff was really funny. The comment sections especially.

A typo I noticed:

In part 1 @ 67%, in the comment section about the mummified corpse in the mansion, one commenter was supposed to be replying to be replying to comment 7, but types 8.... Actually, I guess that could be a part of the novel and the person online made a typo, as opposed to a typo on your end. :shrug_tone2:

@erictbar I agree, the world building has been pretty good so far.

Overall, this desert arc seems entertaining.

Just finished reading every part. This felt a bit generic overall. The siscon/siscest stuff was just creepy, and the novel feels weak in the first half. Most characters were shallow and not very well developed, except for the Redge who had the best characterization out of everyone. The author talks about doing more with this world, but I'm not really too eager to see more.

On a positive note, the action scenes were well choreographed and the novel does admittedly get better in the second half. The art was definitely good, and a highlight for me. You can tell this was Atsui's first novel, but like @Demelza, I would be interested in seeing the author working on something else. I think he had some potentially interesting ideas, despite a rushed execution and a lot of ideas crammed into one novel.

Some typos I noticed:

part 4: it should be 1001st, not 1001th

part 5: “playtme” @10%, "It that hit her” instead of "if" @ 93%

part 6: No ending quotation mark after Yukihime says “Kokuya… @ 56%

Man I really hope Will does the smart thing and saves them. The idea of him having to kill them instead later on is horrible.

That's a good question and one I'm curious to know too. I can't imagine the translator has read all 16 volumes of "Little Apocalypse" as it seems like way too much extra work.

In general with light novels I suspect it is very unnecessary to read too far ahead as the themes aren't overly deep (which isn't a complaint just an observation)

I'll guess Aiko's family villa, as that would be a great opportunity to learn about her, vampires and her brother that Yuichi agreed to help her out with. That said, a fantasy world or foreign country with a martial arts history could both be a lot of fun and I'd love to see those!

Then again, a lot of those could be entertaining. Looking forward to hopefully meeting more of the Survival Club!

@Sam-Pinansky Ah, that's interesting to hear! I wonder how often anime subs (or any other media released outside of Japan), changes the spellings of names compared to what they are originally.

I think Parts 2-3 helped seal the deal on making this my favorite series on here so far. It's so fun, and bizarre. And given the premise, and it has the ability to go in any direction! I'm enjoying the heroines too. I kind of want to wait a while to continue reading it, because it's hard to read it in short bursts...

@Bryan Looks like most were fixed but "hints" hadn't been corrected. Fixed that one now.

The best part yet, fleshing out the mc and his villainous counterpart beyond "pervy-siscon" and "bad guy" helps immensely. Now the final battle should have some resonance.

A few more answers and some plot progression as more characters draw nearer each other.
